Another theory, RM199-RM90 = RM109. UnifiTV RM30. End total still RM139? But, will have to wait to Jan to know the actual billing.
*
i got perpetual discount RM90. Before this on RM70.

my new billing already stated RM199. original subs RM179 but promo got RM139 when sign up jan 2018

so in the end still pay RM139 come jan 2020

Hmm..I think his cable somehow 30% faulty. I tested one cable from China as well cat7. 300Mbps UniFi get around 310Mbps++ based on speedtest. Haha.
*
I have a Cat 5 cable which links at 1Gbps but tops out at around 350Mbps during tests. It's Cat 5 so can't complain.

My unifi plan is unifi 500mbps and router using is Tp-link Archer C5. Tested the speed on my phone, can be considered good speed since maximun is 300mbps? I should change to new router for 500mbps is that right? If I keep using this, will affect anything? Just rebooted the port few days ago cause internet connection very slow but at midnight become slower, supposed if I'm the only awake and connecting to the wifi, my internet speed should be fast?

Hello all,

My internet sometimes lost connection but IPTV works normal. Need to restart BTU and router. It happened almost everyday at least once. Sometimes more than once. Oneof my friend says my connection maybe always lost session but not sure true or not. Have highlighted this to TM during their customer survey calls but dunno if they take the action. I dun wan to lodge report as they sure required me to be at home but im always not availabale (tak senang)

- anyone experience this connection loss before? Restart all equiptment then all fine then happened again
- got anything to do with router? Currently use TM router. The tall black one

Current package is 500mb jumbo channel.

None. My brother got the free upgrade to 50Mb/s once but he chose to downgrade to the new 30Mb/s package so he can pay half of what he's paying previously

From RM189 to RM89. RM100 savings there

What do you mean by lost connection?
WiFi disconnections or frequent change of WAN IP address?

You can try Ugreen if you want, but 20m Dintek cables are available on Shopee?

I just bought Cat 7 cable with gold plated RJ45 connector from Shopee. So far I managed to get 70% of the rated speed of 300Mbps. IPTV also no lag. Costs me about RM60 for 15m, bought from local vendor. You can get half of the price if buy from China, braided flat cable. Flat or round cable doesn't matter. As long as it is durable and can run along the conduit (25mm or bigger).
*
You should get full speed tbh. Something is wrong with your cable.

Yes, it can be considered a good speed. You will need to change to a new router if you upgrade to 500Mbps if you want full speed. You can continue to use the same router, but you won't get full speed. Internet slow could be caused by many reasons.

I suggest that you change router. That router sounds like the D-Link DIR850L, or the rubbish bin router lol. Change router to something like the TP-Link C2300 or even the TP-Link A9, and you won't have that issue anymore.

It will be used to offset part of Dec2019 bill first and the balance to offset part of Jan2020 bill.
For my 16Dec bill , 16Dec to 31Dec will be FOC, but 1Jan2020 to 15Jan2020 is payable.

Hi guys. Planning to buy a 20m Ethernet cable.
1. Does brand matter for Ethernet cable?
2. Is the flat version worse or just the same as thE normal rounded one?

Thanks.
*
1. A good cable matters. I got some free CAT5E cables that are actually CAT5. Dintek is the best, Prolink also OK. Generic cables I bought so far also OK.
2. For cables longer than 15 meters, normal cables better coz better shielded, stronger & better when bending. Flat cables are good for short length eg 50 cm or 25 cm. I use short flat cables for connection between my router, switch, modem & Raspberry Pi as all sit next to each other, less clutter compare to normal 1 meter cables. Flat cables also more practical for non-permanent applications eg connecting to laptops at different places.

Flat cable insulation not as good as rounded cable. bought a flat cable but koyak already after only a few times being grinded by the wooden door.

Rounded cable can take the door grinding like a boss.

Why the insistence of flat though? Normal cables work as well.

Need to route into room and hopefully the flat cable will slip under the door nicely. Round cables keeps getting damaged at the door.

IPTV working meant router was working, which also meant BTU and fibre optics was working as well.

if you need to restart both BTU and router to made internet working again, and if restart only the router the internet still not working, meant the fault wasn't at the router.
