For ppl who uses 3rd party chargers, do you guys ever check charging amp?
I noticed that the baseus charger that i uses charges the same as 25w charger. however the charging amp varies alot can go up to 4A ++ and drop to as low as 0.2A.

if i use original charger, the amp is quite stable 1.5-1.7A

the values are obtained through and app called Ampere.

any comments. make me scared to use 3rd party chargers

@mike3
Charging amp depends whether you are using the phone while charging and/or phone temperature.

As long as the phone detects it as fast charging then it's legit.
Your phone knows better than you. It will ramp up the charge when it thinks it's safe to do so.
*
guess so just that i feel abit weird.
the charger i got display volt and amp the values range from 5v to 9v and amp varies so much.
with samsung 25w charger is stable

true the charging is depends on the phone. i just feel weird using the 3rd party charger

however charging time is almost similar the 25w samsung and the 3rd party.

When you see the charging goes up to 4A, what was the equivalent voltage? Since you mentioned the Baseus is only a 25W charger, the voltage should not have exceeded 6 volts.
*
here is the specs 45w charger

i will need to check the voltage again but i remember it should be around 5-6v which is quite odd as the usb c output doesnt have such range.

there are times the charger is charging at 9v 2.77amp tho.
its quite weird. maybe i should just stick back my stock charger and use this charger when im really in need.

Like 7-10% at night..
I used the member app and it says ok, but all 3rd party apps are showing battery is heavily weared..
*
7-10% on 4g?
10 or 10+

is the connection good?
its usual to drop 5% overnight with data switched on.

if you are really unsure just send to samsung centre. i mean its under warranty anyway.

Actually cannot only see SOT but my 24 hours SOT is usually 4-5hrs with 30% left.

are you guys using samsung health?
anyway go through all your apps.
put your apps to sleep on those not so important apps.

and make sure u close your app not just press home after using it sometimes it will keep running in background may cause battery drain

Mine charges at ~9V and ~2.8A stably most of the time.
Of course toward 100%, the amp is trickling towards 0.

If you are not getting 9V, how do you expect to get ~25W, ~65 mins charging time?
*
That's why I also feel weird.
The charging time almost similar according to the phone as I swap chargers just to confirm

QUOTE(noobandroid @ Dec 27 2019, 09:33 PM)
it's not the average qc3.0 kinda spec, it requires PD+PPS, that's why they have odd numbers, with the next nearest with these are apple type c 60w charger
*
Hmm but the specs state 9v3a which is quite similar to Samsung 9V2.7a

All these protocols are killing me.
I begin questioning the basues item once I got a defective wireless charger.

I'll go see what is the difference between 45w charger I stated and the 60w charger. Last I check quite similar just the number of output ports.
I got the 45w due to the display

Edit: I check both 60w and 65w chargers the output stated is similar to 45w. Now I'm wandering if my charger is defective

cable is e-marked? non e-marked also cant laugh.gif

also, it might have the voltage and stuff matched, but not a pps is still not a pps, it is sort of like an internal identifier, thats why most sites suggest and say only ori charger can do 40W
*
is emarked cable. i even tested with my own ori cable just to be sure.

anyway not expecting 40w more like 9v3a or 9v2.77a just that they are not stable to provide me constant value.
so i begin to question the charger maybe i should use back stock charger only.

i buy this extra charger to leave it at office to charge ending up i use this charger most now as i charge in the morning for now.

If u think it's software problem u can actually calibrate the battery though i don't think it'll help much.

But one thing I noticed coming from an avid apple user is the idle draw is higher than iphones.
im also concerned about getting the perfect screen protector, im still using the preinstalled screen protector, many of my friends didn't install screen protector at all because the edges will lift up no matter what material you're using. or is that note 8 had a bigger curve? the new xone armor covers the screen all the way to the back i think this can help with the edge lifting up problem. though xone armor is like overpriced SP.
*
Samsung generally have higher idle battery drain. you can try tweak it but still wont win iphones or even huawei.
tweak meaning disable those app that does not require background work when closed.
app management in general

SP im using mobile outfitters. FP very good. expensive but at least can replace for rm5 each time.
cant avoid microscratches tho.
getting mine replace again before cny

anyway xone is quiet similar to mobile outfitters

Got it, though i'm ok charging it with 40-80 rule. i just plug the phone in whenever i need battery. i read somewhere also avoid wireless charging when possible due to heat, im still at the babying stage, once im off babying stage then full wireless mode! haha its just too convenient.

im ok with those kind of slim protectors but can they withstand a drop that is the question. i need something powerful but able to play nice with the curved screen and casing, yet i don't like the idea of the glue thingy. no way that glue is going to sit on my screen.
*
haha babying my phone as well for now.
anyway for charging , u can use accubattery they give u a notificationa t 80% and 85% so u wont overcharge.
i download it to see SOT . one ui 2.0 no longer have SOT for per charge but rather per day.

my wireless rosak liao. returned after one day of purchase. i should go buy another wireless charger soon haha

Yeah, I noticed most people here commented that H had better signal strength. Anyways, hope you get your phone back soon!

Yes its true . I mean i own both so i noticed the difference.
Weaker signal also contribute to more power consumption

Every phone got its pros and cons I guess

I have an idea to build a Dex laptop using off shelf parts.

Monitor is a Dell 22 inch with external AC adapter. I can use a USB-C trigger to enable 12V DC over Type-C cable and charger.

uGreen hub with USB, PD and HDMI. Can use a Type-C dummy dock. Phone will connect to this dock and send info the the hub. From hub, video goes to the monitor via HDMI.

Keyboard and mouse are BT so no issues.

Entire components will fit inside a Bosch L-Boxx case. Rugged and portable. Flight friendly too.
*
the note10 samsung dex is really next level.
i see youtuber using them. to be honest can be quite useful for light works.

need a proper hub that can gives power if want to use the dex your way if not the juice will keep draining while u use it.

sadly tv doesnt have usb c ports if not this phone will be powerful. just bring hub and bt keyboard and mouse and volla u have a computer in every hotel u stay in .

i only tested dex on my laptop (have usb c input) so i can charge while using dex mode. just serve not much purpose just to transfer pic as my laptop is far more powerful than my phone. no need hub tho.

TV cant do it even with type c to HDMI cable converter

DEX on PC requires the app. there is another way is to connect note 10 to a display.

I have a sort of similar HDMI/USB hub like this for my Note 8

This plus a couple of cables, a wireless keyboard+mouse and I use the hotel's TV as monitor and I am set to work on the road. Nobody will want to steal those gadgets so can just leave in hotel rooms.

*
is the hub powered externally? meaning can it charge your phone while you are in dex mode?

Got. You can select Settings > Display > Navigation Bar and select the full screen gesture type with conventional three option at the below bar > Recent / Home / Back or vice versa.
Try to use back the previous version. The new gesture not convenient for multitasking apps switching. Hold for 2 seconds before can see the recent apps is a waste of time. Just 1 click to see the recent apps is more efficient and time saving.
*
if you want to see your previous app the current navigation method is abit tedious however if you just wan switch back and forth just swipe left at the area where u swipe ur home. u can switch between app easier and faster as compared to last time. feel dam smooth too

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Dec 31 2019, 01:14 AM)
This I agree, DeX should evolved to wireless.
*
wireless is nice but wont be as efficient as wired.

with wireless u can connect laptop but not tv or monitor without wifi modules. wired is a more common method especially hdmi.
huawei's method is similar to note10's link to window function.
if u guys have windows 10 give it a try. quite similar but i think the app is still not mature yet tho. should be quite lackluster

QUOTE(viqq @ Dec 31 2019, 09:26 AM)
I know, I mean I don't mind keep on replacing the TG instead of having the glue on my screen. But I'm enjoying the preinstalled screen protector as of now.
Thanks for the tip i tot need to hold it when swipe up. this way i will consider using full screen gesture liao. so far testing all the interface settings. I prefer no app tray settings, because it mimics my previous Epal Phone.
Thats the thing, no matter what you put at it,it just won't work. my friend is a note series expert he's been through all these he told me he never put anything on the screen anymore. spent all the money buying these SP still the edges lift up / pop. PET / Tempered Glass all the same.

Im not too sure about TPU though. And a new series from Xone armor covers all the way to the back cover to prevent the edges from lifting.

That's why I'm still using the preinstalled screen protector now.
*
tpu/plastic wont lift up but will have micro-scratches overtime.
im using mobile outfitters now.
kinda expensive i feel but i change it 1-2 months once so my protector looks new everytime.
beware the feeling is not as same as TG.
what to do if want use TG get a flat screen phone icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif

Innovation bah haha, the curved screens make the phones look sleeker but makes it more expensive to make and fix!  doh.gif
I'm personally using mi powerbank 2. newer ones have wireless charger too, not sure about the wattage though.
I was too into getting the best phone deal at Senq because they are the only place that accepts my credit card. The other choice would be iPhone 11 but wanted to try out Android after long 10 years with Epal.

After getting phone , first thing is to get protection bah kan, only i realized curved screens can't match a 2 year old daughter. now i only can take precaution like put away my phone jauh jauh from her reach.
*
kids no choice to be honest. but TG sure got problems . all curved screen have such problems.
luckily samsung is a bigbrand alot of full screen TG.
alot of TG are those white 2 black lines on side. thats a big no no for me.
saw once on my friends phone.

anyway for super protection you may consider ottorbox. will be chunky as hell but best protection i guess?

no worries my colleague phone all gone case, the son take use as hammer. the screen as the hammer .....

PS: get the samsung screen protection after purchase hehe. at least can change once within a year.

Time to get one. @Tomei-R will guide u there !

QUOTE(viqq @ Dec 31 2019, 01:31 PM)
How much does that cost? It works like an insurance thingy right? Not sure if Senq covers screen cracks they gimme 2 years warranty  hmm.gif  so after 1 year it works like a normal warranty or T&C applies? Makes me wonder.

I don't mind chunky but it seems the otterbox defender has a charger port flap which i dislike. Can't find any tech21 cases around my town, might need to order online but im not feeling their design. I think i prefer UAG monarch the most, any users here?
*
rm140 for one year screen protection,
since u getting senq warranty for 2nd year i dont recommend u to buy the samsung warranty as they will stack and serve no purpose.
samsung additional1 year + 1 year screen is 280 i think

anyway anyone use douyin (china tiktok)
after android 10 cant go full screen anymore (last time the video extend to punchole. now no more even i change the app settings at display to full instead of auto. any ideas?

at least u got stable 9v 2.77A
mine 4amp also i see before dam weird not sure the measurement spoil or what

Retails at 599euro which translates to RM2747, I'm guessing Samsung Malaysia is gonna sell them at rm2699.

Obviously Samsung is trying to clear their inventory of the older Exynos chips found on the note 9. Which is still very capable if you don't need the latest processor.

Anyone here using wireless charging on a daily basis? I'm thinking of getting the official Samsung Wireless Charger. Is it good/durable?
*
no doubt about the capability of the processor. just the power consumption will not be so great i guess.'
the bigger battery might just compensate it

QUOTE(viqq @ Jan 4 2020, 08:56 AM)
It's nice. RM2k price point very tempting to get one because it's the only phone with stylus. No competition here.
I mean like completely not using the cable anymore? I researched that though wireless chargers can create more heat, good chargers prevents that and if you're doing the 40-80 rule or some really paranoid ones, 50-65, it's actually beneficial to use a wireless charger. Just don't leave it for too long, it can save up the hassle of plugging in out of the cable.
*
hehe, note phone doesnt have any contender other then themselves anyway.
note 9 is at <3k too
