I would upgrade the cpu to atleast ryzen 5, take the 4GB + 4GB ram option, upgrade the ssd to pcie nvme for RM10.

And atleast go for 1080p FHD screen, unfortunately this option is only avalaible with Ryzen 7 option, otherwise you just get 15.6" HD (1366x768) only.

Totally agree, and also minimum IPS instead of TN. However they want affordable, if you go FHD with that model, need choose Ryzen 7 option and once you do that, the cost jumps from RM1500 to RM2000. For budget conscious, that is a big 33% jump in cost.

This model comes with 1 soldered RAM and 1 open socket RAM.

If you take the 8GB selectable RAM, the soldered RAM part will be empty. Better configure the soldered part with max memory (in this case 4GB RAM). In the future, you can upgrade the open socket RAM part.

Better to go with the soldered RAM option if can, cause later on cannot upgrade.

In future you can upgrade the one 4GB DDR4 SO-DIMM open socket to something higher like 8GB or 16GB. Even crucial website confirms can max the RAM to 20GB.

ry8128 i know its old game but just tested red alert 3 on thinkpad T495. Fan didn't even turn on, laptop runs cool. Game loads fast. All i can say is Ryzen 5 Pro perform quite good for gaming.

It came with 2666Mhz RAM, but it is downclocked to 2400Mhz. How do you check the clockspeed?

Yeah I agree, the important part is you max that 4GB soldered and manage get FHD display.

Also, my first order last time also i cancelled and re-ordered. Lucky the CS was able to help me do it. If not sure sakit hati knowing you can get a more powerful laptop for a little bit more money.
