last month before termination was rm 300++

now when they terminate 1300 ++

i dont know where the figure come from, did not even give me a bill or statement, just an email like this.

Seriously i very fed up with TM service.

Anyway, this amount suddenly so huge, I also need some time to pay it back.

I want to call their number but keep on busy, called so many times.

What kind of trouble or legal action will i face if i cannot pay this bill?

why you can fedup with TM when you dont pay the Bills ? your fault right

the extra bill i guess from penalty due to contract termination.

Have to talk to TM your issues and how can resolve ?

just drop by nearest tm point, much faster than calling their cs
by the way, why you didn't pay in the first place?

They will sue you, if not now maybe in few years time.
I had the same experience before.
back in 2008 when i was still a student i subscribed for a P1 internet service, used for a few months and then decided to stop due to the slow speed.
I did not terminate the contract because then I will need to pay the termination fees, so i just stop paying.
Few years later i received letter from them summoning me to court, but i just ignored.
Because of that, i couldn't sign up for postpaid number with any telco, could not apply for unifi under my own name, and the debt will be listed in your ctos, so you will have a hard time to apply for any bank loan in future.
In the end few years back i just went and paid the outstanding bills and they cleared my name.
Now i can register postpaid number with telco, buy iphone with their postpaid plan, register unifi & time under my own name & has no problem to apply for bank loan.
My advice, just pay the outstanding bills to tm, because eventually you will have to

Not true.

I am blacklisted by 1 mobile telco for past debts but could get postpaid service from another mobile telco. The former mobile telco gave very poor postpaid mobile broadband speed, so I just stopped using it/auto-cancelled and moved to another much better postpaid mobile telco.
.
h0ru5 Your TM debt will only blacklist you from TM services, not the other telcos because other telcos want your money also. Worse come to worse, you can still use prepaid services which are not blacklisted, afaik, because the government encourages cell-phone use by all people.

After sometime, TM will CTOS you if debt still not paid = cannot get bank loans, eg credit cards, car and house loans, bevause you are a bad debtor = high risk of NPL or Non-Performing Loans. If you do not need any credit card and bank loan, no need worry about being CTOS'ed.

TM and banks can only sue you in bankruptcy court if your debt is > RM50k. They like to frighten debtors with lawyer letters about bankruptcy suits = the lawyer office are more like debt collectors/agents or ah longs. .......

.
.
P S - The TM bill ballooned probably because of premature termination fees for Unifi plans that are under 2-year contracts.

For such a small amount just pay. Not worth the trouble in future being blacklisted from all telcos and put into CTOS. If you want an explanation of the charges just drop into your nearest TM Point.

Fine if you are taking a new number but if you want to port your number to another telco you still need to settle the bill with your telco.

You are correct.

I was using a postpaid mobile broadband plan via a 3G modem and not via a smartphone = no phone number = got shhity speed = dumped it. I was concurrently using a prepaid 3G phone plan from another mobile telco company. Later, found out I got blacklisted by the former.
....... So, I then moved to TM Streamyx ADSL fixed broadband plan for home-phone and Internet services. After a few years, I properly cancelled the TM Streamyx account and moved to a much cheaper postpaid 4G mobile broadband phone plan from another mobile telco = got new phone number.

what TM will do is most likely:

1. blacklist you and submit name to ctos and/or
2. get some small time lawyer that they usually dump your kind of case, sue you in court, get a judgment against you, hold on to it or execute it using other means besides bankruptcy(since so little amount)

either way, best is to just go over to TM and work out a payment schedule if you dont 1 further issues

Afaik, a company, eg TM, will not spend RM10k or more to go to court, to recover a debt of just RM1k or a few hundred RM. If big debt of many RMk, maybe lah.

Lawyer office gets a big commission from every small bad debt that it recovers and collects for a company, eg for TM. So, the lawyer office uses legal scare tactics to try to "trick" or get the debtors to pay.

I "owe" a mobile telco company about RM700 since about 10 years ago after I unilaterally stopped the service. I refused to pay because of its bad service = very slow Internet speed compared to its advertisement. Kena blacklisted by the telco but until today no court case yet.

One person's good experience doesnt mean you will have it. Now is 2019 NOT 2009! Best if when you are free and less stress, you walk into any telco to inquire.

not saying that your experience is not relevant anymore, but nowadays there are more small time law firm that do bulk work will take on those case for minimal to few hundred bucks cost

also TM aint interested with your few hundred bucks, they need to do that for their audit purposes, they probably have no intention to execute the judgment against you in the first place, it is the mechanism for them to write off bad debts for accounting purposes

https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2019...ith-court-order - Indah Water to collect 14 years of arrears from premises with court order - Thursday, 07 Nov 2019

Recently, Indah Water got a court order to disconnect its sewage services from a retail lot that owes it 14 years of bill arrears = about RM5k, ie at the commercial rate of RM26 per month(= profit-gouging by IWK.?). IWK probably dismantled its toilet or sealed/blocked/plugged the toilet drain outlet with cement. Retail lots usually have only 1 toilet.
....... So, if owe a few RMk, we need to pay up before getting raided by IWK and the court. We can't win against the powderful government or GLC.

Of course, the retail lot owner may still refuse to pay up by paying a plumber a few hundred RM to reinstall or unseal/unblock/unplug the toilet or go shit elsewhere. If so, IWK would have to go to court again.

Many thought that IWK could not cut off their sewage services/supply like the easy cutting off of water or electricity supply or Internet connection if > 2 months' in bill arrears.
