the 2011 more like ECE testing with the 275g criteria.

To protect your head, in today's money - rm200 is not expensive , not pricey at all.

Didn't buy the Shark Ridill. Delayed my plans. Anyway now kena racun by Shoei PFS already. Why the Z8 still not here in Malaysia, seems to be out in ID & SG already. White & that Basalt Grey looks nice.

The common notion that SIRIM = ECE 22.05 is wrong since SIRIM can be under MS1:1996
Just bought a new helmet yesterday. Zeus GJ318C RM110
Not sure if its the cheapest ECE 22.05 helmet in MY. But very cheap already.

Requirements was: Use for L helmet, nearby neighbourhood riding, spare helmet, cheap.

Zeus is a Taiwan brand, and the helmet I bought doesn't have JPJ or Sirim but has ECE 22.05. The GJ318C is a cafe style demi-jet with built in half visor. Also comes with the 3 snap button so you can attach a BOGO full face visor if you want. Another feature is removable liner, so can wash.

Price is RM110. Other helmets considered were SGV champion, Magnum, Index dll. But those are all SIRIM only, can't remove liner and cushion doesn't feel as firm - SGV seems overly soft. No brainer to pay a bit more for ECE IMO. Color also very retro style and the cap visor thing (dunno what you call it) is cool looking. There's 1 vent in front and 2 exhaust vent in the rear - actually its just a hole. Got myself matte vespa gray.

Pros: ECE 22.05, nice retro design and color, vents, removable liner, half visor, RM110 what you want. A bit extra get all the features over comparable SGV etc.
Cons: micrometric buckle (double D FTW), not a full face

popularity of zeus in taiwan already surpassed sol several years ago.

Zeus don’t seem very popular compare to KYT seems very hot.

Sirim MS1:1996 is not ECE, the 2011 is adapted to ECE R22.05. But, you're correct if less informed public can be mistaken, or does not know at all.

Zeus helmet been around here > 10 years. Last time mix with LC owners group already got few users.

KYT made news after buying Suomy and got into MotoGP. Many users brought in cooler and cheaper helmets from the originating country from seberang and become popular. Index used to have nice looking helmets in Thailand that some users brought in also, but that time belum zaman youtube and Insta...

Another brand is Bilmola.

OMG now that's a blast from the past...!

I remember the guys used to slap on a SHOEI sticker on top of the INDEX logo... lololol.... then the knock-off industry got wind of it and saved them the trouble.

Now got AAA grade X14, and got customers buy liao, ride R25, langgar Myvi, and showed the helmet 'saved his life'.

Dulu the Index logo was shaped exactly like the Shoei logo, except the wordings said INDEX.
