Maybe I'll start a thread with "Someone told me not to buy any new laptops from this forum because they're not new!".

What is the seller's name?

I create this topic is to remind any buyers who wanted to buy a NEW laptop from the forum.

I am a reseller as well, recently I saw there's a seller who posted he is selling a few choices of laptop which is below the market price by few hundred to RM1000, I know some information about this laptop, I know it's a refurbished model, but he claimed that it's a 100% BRAND NEW.

I checked in the manufacturer's website that the manufacturer only provide 90 days warranty for refurbished model, but he said it's 1 year warranty at first, then after I post my doubts, he replied that 1 year warranty is from the importer.

So I started to tell the buyers to beware and telling them the pro and cons of buying a laptop like this, coz it's very headache when comes to the warranty side, the buyers cannot do any warranty claim from the local service centre, furthermore there's is no way to hide whether it's a 100% BRAND NEW or refurbished, coz we can trace it through the product code that sticked behind the laptop. Suddenly, the seller sent me a PM, with the topic "WARNING!!" and indirectly wants me to shut up and not to disturb his sales.

Well, FYI, the laptop looks brand new, with box everything, but if you know how to check it, you will discover that it's a refurbished model..

As a consumer, we got the right to know what we are buying..if it's refurbished model, we got the right to know, furthermore a laptop costs more than RM2500, quite a big of amount for certain people.

Yes, your intention was good. But at least you could point out the thread instead the seller's name so that other buyers won't get cheated.

I'm just guessing that due to the "WARNING" that TS got from that someone, a name can't be provided in this forum. Anyway, its a good deed to inform us about the activity of someone claiming that his laptops are brand new when in fact, its all refurbished model.
