Such info would be beneficial to all N73 users who are half decided abt upgrading to the V4, not forgetting all those who already have the V4.
Any takers? TQ in adv.

To start off this V4 with much needed info would be to list the changes now available in the new V4 Firmware...

Found this post here ==> http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum/showt...?t=51669&page=2
However it's NOT an official changelog. QUOTE N73 new firmware: 4.0726.2.0.1 26-06-2007 - New Music Player (like the one in ME version) - New Internet Icon (which houses the Services, Web and Download!) - FOTA update is available under "Device Manager" - A2DP support. - Image quality in sun light possibly improved. - Image quality in night mode improved (no more "blue haze") - Preview window in White Balance is finally working! - Possibly faster switching between stills and video mode. - Overall faster menu reaction. - When you want the messages to be on the MiniSD instead of the phone or vice-verca, the phone now asks "everytime" if you want move them, unlike before when there was no confirmation. - No Snakes game. - Updated version of Real Player. Me can confirm the following : 1. Music Player as in N73ME...but this was already available in earlier V4 which was withdrawn after only a few days of release! 2. New Internet Folder/Icon group 3. FOTA available under Device Manager 4. No Snakes game. Game Folder now empty. 5. Updated Version of Real Player. Can others pls add to list? TQ. There was a vast difference between N73 installed Music Player and LCG Jukebox when I tested it. As a result I bought & installed it.
Now with new V4 Firmware & the ME-type Music Player, there is not much noticeable or listening difference using the LCG Jukebox...beside the ability to DL album art & lyrics fr the Net. Moreover there were a few irritating bugs... Consequently I've removed my ORIG LCG V2.15 now. And am enjoying listening to my Mp3's w/o it. Ha Ha! |

QUOTE (wilson_png @ Jul 12 2007, 11:37 PM) Dr@gon and 4 the new firmware when turn the flash off when take pict it really off liao, but stil when capture got abit light lo~~hehe QUOTE(Dr@gon @ Jul 13 2007, 04:59 PM) Huh? I dun get it... I think I kno wat he means...In all earlier V3 Firmware, even if one sets Flash as OFF, the LED still flashes! A bug... Then, in Firmware V4.0723.2.0.1 of 06-06-2007, when yu set Flash as OFF, there was really NO Flash...the LED did not even light up!! Exactly wat it should be!! Now, in FW V4.0726.2.0.1 of 26-06-2007, when yu set Flash as OFF, the LED still lights up when yu press the shutter release button but only DIMly...Not a true Flash. Wonder why Nokia could not keep the earlier improvement? |

One more plus point in new FW V4 :
A "Quit" option is now available in Music Player menus. This enables one to Exit and Close the Music Player. You cannot do this in orig N73ME firmware. However altho the Multimedia button & menu still functions on the keypad, it is now incapable of closing the Music Player as in previous V3 FWs. You can only use it to Select & Open the Music Player now. This post has been edited by zeone: Jul 14 2007, 10:48 AM |

QUOTE(-vip3rleon9- @ Jul 14 2007, 11:21 AM) and what you're mentioning is.. by pressing the music button, it will not close the music player but will only open it? Yup. Using the MM Key, you can only select & open the Music Player.Pressing the MM Key again after opening the MP, will only close or open the MM Selection Screenview...NOT close the MP. And MP will be running in the background unless you select the "Exit" Opftion from Options in any of the MP Menus. This post has been edited by zeone: Jul 14 2007, 03:45 PM |

mitsui_seeker...pls clarify wat yu mean by "...always OFF by itself".
All N73 will auto shutdown (totally dark blank screen) after a fixed time of NO usage. The blue LED will then blink to tell yu the phone is still on. If this is wat yu mean, it is due 2settings... If not, then yu need CSL or Nokia... |

QUOTE hi bro, after fixed time of NO usage, the screen will become blank and the blue LED will blink..how do I change the setting so that this scenario wont happen.many Thanks! To change settings :Press Menu key Select Tools ==>Settings ==>Phone ==>Display Change Sleep mode to OFF. If you do not want the screen to darken so fast, change the Power saver time-out to max of up to 30 mins. (Default = 5min) Or to delay the dimming of the screen, change the Light time-out to max of 60 secs. (Default = 15 secs) Hope the above helps. Hv fun exporing yr N73! |

QUOTE(nk3371 @ Jul 25 2007, 11:19 AM) Although there is no improvement in music player, I've discovered something that I've been waiting for... 1. Are yu sure LCG Jukebox is LOUDER? I hv ORIG LCG V2.15.LCG Jukebox volume is louder in this firmware...Soo Happy... The original music player is way too sux.... Almost have no bass... And its only have 5-band equalizer while LCG have 10-band... 2. LCG 10-band = Nokia MP's 5-band. Why? Volume dependent on built in HARDWARE! Pl chk out details in LCG Forum. AFAIK, for std/vanilla N73, V 4.0723.2.0.1 dated 06-06-2007 got rid of the Flash bug! When camera is set to NO Flash/Flash OFF, there was really NO Flash!! Not even a flicker!
Now in V 4.0726.2.0.1 dated 26-06-2007, the flash LED lights up only dimly...not a real flash. Am wondering why Nokia could NOT keep the LED totally OFF as in the earlier V4 FW... |
