2. basic offshore safety & emergency training (boset)

1. Perform offshore medical. There are many type of offshore medical (Petronas, SHELL, Exxon, OGUK) to take the one that fits the requirement. To be done by approved medical examiner. Check website.

2. After getting the offshore medical result, then can do BOSIET. Got few location:

KL - SEQU, CONSIST
Pasir Gudang - MSTS
Miri - MSTS, BSTS
East Cost - MSTS (Cherating), TSC (Kemaman)

3. Safety passport. For offshore, no need attend course. Once you have medical & BOSIET, safety passport can be applied to the oil and gas company that you will be working. It has to be done by the company, you cannot apply yourself.

You should check with the operator of the facility you are visiting which training centres they accept and which courses are required.

just call SEQU man, they answer right away.
they have schedules.

You do not need OGSP for offshore work, but if you insist on having it, go to NIOSH.

Right now dunno la, last time I did in 2017 was RM 2,070 per person. That is OPITO BOSIET with travel safely by boat. T-BOSIET could be different price.

Osp sequ easier to arrange.

I think ogsp is the hardest. Always full class. Need book advance like 1 month early.

The real tips is exercise and try hold breath for 50 seconds.

I dont know how to use that thing and manage to pass 4 times bosiet already.

1 week before bosiet i go jog + praktis hold breath 50secs.

My first bosiet I also like bodo listen to ppl and hold breath. Almost fail cos panic. The next 4 times I’ve used the EBS properly and had no issues, even doing cold water HUET with full survival suit

Actually why u want to do bosiet yourself? AFAIK got no benefit in getting job unless those contract roustabout type duty. Even that one usually they send u once u sign up

I dont even know how to swim. So i could panick breathing through the ebs underwater and worse case swallow in water.

I dont want to take chance and just hold breath. If we can hold breath without the ebs, for sure we can hold breath when using ebs too right?

Anyway we still need to hold breath when doing it without ebs.

Freelance guy normally do it themselves la.

But worth it la one day could get 1.5k to 2k. So 1 day + ot can cover whole cost already.

That’s why I say practice the system properly before going in water. It actually stops you from panicking.

With T-bosiet it’s still no issue hold breath but with immersion suit it’s much easier to panic with the suit having air inside and creating bouyancy force. Use the system to relax yourself

The immersion suit itself is a bit hassle to put on and take off. But you look like an astronaut at the pool area if the rest are doing T-Bosiet with normal coverall.

Still TS have not mention the position he wanted to take. Some position require cert or other than being TBOISET and Medical.

I went for medical offshore dulu, get petronas standard or petronas approved clinic bcos they basically owned all the oil n gas in msia.
Then if pass the medical, look for offshore training centre. U can choose tropical water or cold water (europe / norwegian standard).
Learn to use EBS mouth piece (tiup n sedut nafas dari benda tu je).
OGSP normally for onshore plant, sometime companies will sponsor (if u are hired as permanent staff).
Companies will sponsor all these courses if u are hired as permanent staff.
Get licenses or competency certs if u want to have sustainable oil n gas jobs. Can jump around or rollover once contract abis
