I would say an Audio Technica AT2020. Reasonably priced.

i use the Mic that I got when I buy Scarlett 2i2 Studio Bundle.
The mic is good, for me. As I'm doing just bodo bodo recording But the problem is, this condenser mic is very sensitive. If people walking in front of my room, or somebody opens the gate I can hear from my room as i tak buat proper acoustic. So when you expensive Condenser Mic, you also need "Expensive" Acoustic treament hahaha My advice is, if you looking for Condenser Mic, there's a lot of choice from different range of price (From RM $$$-RM $$$$) or else just got any Shure SM58 or SM57. If you got extra money laying around, get SM Beta 58A! For recording music instruments, SM57 is good enough. And condenser Mic also good for Music Instrument recording. Goodluck and have fun! |

QUOTE(fuadalibaba @ Apr 17 2020, 05:53 PM) i use the Mic that I got when I buy Scarlett 2i2 Studio Bundle. With budget interface like Scarlett 2i2 it's best to use condenser le. Dun care BM800 or Rode NT1 or AT2020. As long as condenser can.The mic is good, for me. With any dynamic like SM58 or SM57 had to crank gain till max only can get decent volume and that already up a lot of floor noise. Also usb interface not enough gain to drive SM58 also I thought I could go budget by using SM58 with my UMC22 interface but no. It couldn't support enough gain to run the dynamic without noisy gain noise. Try Scarlett 2i2 2nd gen, same sound same problem. Plug in to Yamaha CL5 to test if mic got problem or not, sounds superb n clean cuz plenty gain to run Adding a cloudlifter would definitely help but that's gonna boost the budget kawkaw. One CL1 cloudlifter already RM800 So conclusion, if want budget get budget condenser easier to run haha. If scared too sensitive with noisy neighbor den try to kiss mic a bit more with lower gain |

QUOTE(letsjam @ Nov 2 2019, 07:18 PM) You can't really go wrong with Shure SM57/58Probably one of the greatest mics ever made. Tough as hell and will last you years. Plus its versatile enough for vocals as well as guitar |

The most over rated mic is SM58. Only people who are narrow minded will recommend this silly boring mic
