Even the CJ is a big korean company , doesn't mean allow them to advertise in a golden slot time 8:30pm after news. They get 2 extra channel alone already.
I wonder , how much $ they invest for those time slot and extra own channel.
Will it be the reason mediaprime never intended to have HD channel since CJ will bear the cost of all data transmitted. CJ invest on mediaprime shareholder % ?
I access tonton.com.my and it show the episode list which really convenient. Now I know which episode some long run korea tvshow running man or some other series episode.

It doesn't matter.
Media Prima would do anything for their company's survival, even sacrificing prime time slots for shopping. CJ O Shopping, or whatever it is, they can just partner with anyone, as long it brings profit to Media Prima.
No doubt that CJ Wow Shop does make profit to Media Prima, so there's no signs of stopping or slowing down at all. After all, Media Prima suffers a lot of money loss for many years already. You can go and Google those news.
Media Prima understands consumer's behaviour well enough; viewers today don't watch much TV; viewership are not as high as those days; advertising revenue aren't that promising anymore
So since viewers don't bother to watch much Media Prima channels (unless those hardcore rural viewers/FTA TV fans), they might as well turn it into more and more TV shopping content and channels to gain profit.
Of course, they would tell you "We want to give the best offers and deals to our viewers, to improve the overall well-being and quality of life..." all those things, but they just want you to spend money, that's all.
That is how free-to-air station works. Rely on advertising to survive.
My suggestion? Don't rely too much on Media Prima channels. Those good old days are gone. It's a hard truth to move on.
Whatever shows you want to catch up, find alternative platforms such as watch/stream it online.
