And outrage from the local production industry. The only local jobs left would be writing subtitles

Transmitting a static picture uses very little bandwidth in the multiplex

Night shutdown used to be done to save electricity. DVBT uses a lot less power than analogue did, so less important

I wonder how these coverage maps are made? Do they do local observations of signal strength or they just plot the theoretical signal strength via some kind of program? If yes, what program?

Computer prediction from terrain model data.
I have used Splat successfully to model DVBT coverage

The hard part is getting exact transmitter locations, tower heights and output power

And antenna pattern, not much point for an Indonesian broadcaster paying for electricity to transmit to Singapore

Yeah, our authorities (along with SG and probably ID ones) doesnt publish information publicly or output power, ERP etc of each mux from a transmitter... sad.gif

They used to in the analogue days

If the hill is blocking you don't have much chance, but yes, that black antenna was designed to go on a window. You lose a lot of signal due to the rebar in a wall

Adding a minority channel to a streaming service like Unifi costs very little extra.
On broadcast services, which Astro and MyTV are, it takes a chunk of bandwidth that costs money and blocks something else

Can RTM increase the power on their transmitters? Completely no Signal or Quality from RTM Mux here in Semenyih.

Last time I can receive the signal in where the small antannae was placed in the middle of the closed up, close curtain windowed locked up room but now cannot.

Both Signal Strength and Quality now 0%. Already like that these past few days.

Seminyih only has hope of signal from Sg Besi, no chance from Genting or Menara KL
