Hi guys, I stay in a condo in Malacca. I able to watch SG channel when plug the antenna cable directly to the smart TV.
However, I couldn't search SG channel using "auto search" when I plug the antenna to mytv box. I only able to get msia channel. Can anyone guide me on this? Thank you.

Press MENU>Installation>Manual Search

Perform manual search on these frequencies, one by one:

Channel 29 538MHz - Channel 5, Suria
Channel 31 554MHz - Channel 8, Vasantham
Channel 33 570MHz - Channel NewsAsia, Channel U

Once done, you'll be able to watch all Singapore channels as usual.

This TV Osem better show English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese shows too in order to stay interesting.

As you're talking about this, I wonder how is the coverage of Bukit Batok TV transmitter as I always thought you stop receive good signals beyond Northern Johor.

Then, nobody will watch rubbish channel like TV Osem.

Singapore TV reception is still possible above northern Johor areas, such as southern part of Melacca.
But of course, it will be much more challenging to receive it.
You have to be on very high ground (e.g. condominium, high rise buildings such as hotel), and with a long, many elements UHF antenna (e.g. 37E UHF antenna) and you might need a masthead amplifier (signal booster) to get adequate signals.
And usually those would do that, are the MATV installers. MATV means Master Antenna Television, also known as centralised antenna installer.

If the area is around southern Melacca area, they would try to set up and configure the rooftop antenna system to receive Singapore TV channels, hence the viewers of the entire building would be able to enjoy Singapore digital TV reception by connecting the cable to their respective TV wall socket
And yes of course, along with Malaysia digital TV channels too.

A condo at Ujong Pasir.
She has been switching that antenna cable between the TV and MYTV box. She said TV can't watch Msia channel, MYTV can't watch SG channel. Doesn't makes sense to me as it used same antenna cabbles.

I'm not sure where bukit batok is. Mine is at Ujong Pasir area. Maybe condo have higher ground level hence can get better signal? Or condo management invest on a high range antenna? Not sure about that.

Is it MYTV decoder can support astro dish with position Measat 3?
And is it the LNB need to change? Currently using the astro LNB.

By the way, any idea how to watch the local channels using the astro dish?

If MYTV combo box is connected to a satellite dish aimed towards Measat 3/3a/3b, it will be able to detect satellite signal but you can't watch the channels because it is encrypted by Astro.

Watch local channels using Astro dish? Just buy an Njoi box.
It'll be cheaper if you tell them you don't need a new satellite dish cuz you already have an existing Astro dish

The situation is my parents get it for free MYTV Combo box. Put at there not using also feel wasted resources.

I have astro (not njoi), but already terminated, currently put the decoder in the freezer since less ppl watching. No point keep buy decoder lah since only 1 unit TV nia..

I don't want to move the position of astro dish because sometime if very "need", maybe will activate astro account temporary. But this time not need because no ppl in front at TV watching..

But sometimes at least wanna to turn ON TV (occasionally operate TV to keep long lasting lifespan)

However if let say I use C band dish to connect MYTV combo, is it whether can get search the channel? Position at Chinasat.

like this sunday morning, tune to ntv7 to watch the chinese ghost catcher story, not sharp at all, like 480p stretch to 1080p, so blur, hurt my eyes, low resolution better no broadcast at all.

If your Astro subscription has been terminated, why not consider convert it into Njoi subscription?

You have a C band dish aimed at which Chinasat satellite? Chinasat 6b or Chinasat 6a?
I don't think MYTV combo box can support C band signal input.

Alternatively, if your Astro dish's position is "perfectly aligned" for receiving Astro signals (Measat 3/3a/3b satellites),
you could try use your MYTV combo box to receive Indonesian FTA channels, which I don't think you would interested to watch Bahasa Indonesia stuff anyway.

NTV7 channel on digital TV is still in SD quality. It's not in HD, so of course it's not sharp

Haha.. Coz my subscriptions is Lite plan.. So if I convert to Njoi, next time got siki duit or "handy itchy" then cannot upgrade to Lite already.
Eventually my old folk house using normal astro (as I explained to you already terminate) while my bro house using njoi... I don't have plan to change njoi bcoz sometimes astro will offer bck something to me.. (Depend their mood..) you know what I mean lah.. So not need so obviously...

But this mth receive a call from astro about my njoi (which is at my bro house) offer me a starter pack rm25 without any contract... So quite attractive include all chinese pack, then hand itchy agree to change it...

Nw only the old house there issued there... Although got unifi, bt my old folk ppl don't know hw to use the tv box... So far only my hand or eyes itchy open tv box to watch unifi.. Bt now most of the channel like animax, red hbo everything ceased... Ntg to watch already..
