Already have Unionpay card from BOC, not sure if I should apply another one from GoPayz lol...
Or just wait until they launch JCB card, if it ever happens.

QUOTE(leo_kiatez @ Nov 3 2019, 11:45 AM) Not much benefit actually (not sure about CC cuz mine is DC), just wider acceptance in China and cheaper withdrawal fee when you withdraw from BOC ATM in China...Just keeping it for savings, and the unique design of the card lol. Verification just got approved, also applied for physical Unionpay card...
But they still charged me RM 16 tho... Also don't like the fact that minimum top up amount is RM 30. |

QUOTE(leo_kiatez @ Nov 5 2019, 09:29 AM) Thanks. What is the benefit for apply multiple physical cards,e.g. unionpay locally any shop to accept this card if future gonna maintain it? You don't have to apply multiple cards, but you can choose to do so since all three cards will be linked with the same app with same balance, each card costs RM 16 though (and the free card cashback promotion only applies to one card if I'm not wrong)...Many shops nowadays do accept Unionpay, although still not as much as Visa and Mastercard, but pretty sure the coverage will keep on expanding from time to time. QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Nov 5 2019, 10:28 AM) if u plan to go china can apply for unionpay card, some atm in malaysia like maybank also accept Boost only supports Unionpay QR, some places only accept Unionpay card.those big shopping mall like unionpay accept widely cos wanna do chinese business but if u want to pay unionpay only in malaysia can use Boost enough as they only limited to local unionpay, not in china... Unionpay Malaysia is trying to widen their expansion here, you can see that Unionpay cards from banks like ICBC, BOC, PBB, AMB are being advertised commonly nowadays. It's not just mainland Chinese business, although it relies mostly on them. This post has been edited by xperiaDROID: Nov 5 2019, 10:35 AM |

QUOTE(jefftan4888 @ Nov 8 2019, 03:29 PM) Tried paying @ Old Town Bdr Kinrara with GoPayz UnionPay card, GoPayz UnioPay QR & Boost-UnionPay QR - all failed! McDonald's is your best bet.End up paid by GrabPay. I think their UnionPay payment is not activated. Told them that no issue to pay at Old Town Leisure Mall using Boost-UnionPay QR. Also, asked the staff to feedback the issue to their management. The staffs said I’m the 1st customer to request paying by UnionPay. Looking for more UnionPay test sites (can pay for small amount). Please suggest! |

Tried using the Unionpay card at McD yesterday, the wave feature worked flawlessly...
But the shake reward was just some Agoda discount. This post has been edited by xperiaDROID: Nov 18 2019, 09:15 PM |

So it's true that they will be enabling NFC payment in the future according to some tech website...
Looks like it's gonna be a game changer. |

Probably not gonna top up too often until they reduce the minimum topup amount.
RM 30 is just like Razer Pay which no one uses. This post has been edited by xperiaDROID: Dec 2 2019, 09:24 AM |
