arjen, I'll join you in cancelling!  I'm unsatisfied too with their quality of service.  Like I mentioned, it used to be good when you first started, but then it goes downhill after that.  It got so bad that I'm using it very little nowadays.  It's much better to spend my money on 3G from either Celcom or Maxis.

according to them, they have done troubleshooting n checking on satuday n sunday.they said everything is ok & no problem. but when i came back from hometown today, connection stil the same. mad.gif

yeah, the 1st 2 week when i just signed up, the speed running almost full from the package i subscribe. but after that, hahaha. just like a dial up connection.

Doesnt think so man, i tried from morning to midnight till morning, disconnecting and reconnecting it from time to time. Its still slow....i think they are slowing down heavy downloaders. Awww.. Shucks!
*
but for my case, i m not a heavy downloader . only online gaming n mp3. i have downloaded roughly 1 gb files. however, if they really limit user to dl <1gb , that's really sxxx!

Well, for me at least, things have gotten from bad to worse.  Previously my torrentflux server gave me 120KB/s.  Then it dropped to 70KB/s.  Now it's 45KB/s.  Very soon it will drop to zero, and I hope the company ends up this way too  vmad.gif  mad.gif  Sigh, another month to go before my three month anniversary...another painful month of waiting to cancel...
*
same experience here.
1st 2 weeks: dl speed 100-120kbps rclxms.gif
2 weeks later: dl speed 10-15kbps vmad.gif

Sorry for missing your question, arjen, didn't mean to ignore you  sweat.gif

I'm using the IzziPro desktop modem.  It's by far the most powerful of the three devices, according to Kyocera's website.  Signal strength is good to excellent, never dropping below 70%, often 80-90%, as reported by the iBurst utility.

My guess is that the increase in new users has congested their base stations (there is only a small-ish number of concurrent users that an iBurst base station can support according to my research), as well as these additional users using up IzziNet's existing capacity.  So, two factors are contributing to the slowdown in surfing/direct download/P2P - base station congestion and international capacity congestion.  Since I don't have a utility program to query a base station to see its load, I can't prove this theory.  None of the iBurst utilities out there which I've tested can show this information.
*
ic. my signal strength 90-100 %. mostly 100% cos near to their base station. today connection better than b4, capped around 200kbps. stable but still slow connection. wondering... hmm.gif

has anyone played MMORPG on IZZI yet ~~~~~
*
does not recommend for mmorpg such as w.o.w since it depends a lot on latency due to wireless latency so high.

iburst probly cannot play online because it is wireless. rmbr tht most of the ppl here know more about computer than those guys in isp, right

but playing dota it's ok cos it's not more on latency. i m playing dota since the 1st day i got izzi.

hi everyone,

i was an ex-izzi subscriber. in my past experience on this new broadband service, the speed will only fast & stable in day time.however, speed will drop significantly during night time but stil can surf net & downloading with 20-40kbps. my signal all the time 100%. night time latency will b higher if compare to day time. I think this is due to more users connected at the same time with same base station in night.

therefore, in my opinion it's not suitable for heavy users like gamer, p2p....
i would say that it is more suitable for light users who only need mobility n get connected all the time any where within coverage.

I have terminated the contract & shift to streamyx. that's due to im belongs to heavy users.

LoL.. My connection from Bukit Jalil is the same as well... The maximum i can go is 200kbps using the izzi speedtest. I cannot play game, i called and complain, they give me 1 more month free...

So, i asked them if the connection is like this what i want your 1 month extension for? The speed is so bad and what can i use the 1 extra month for? The customer service said they are working on that, base station will be up.. bla bla bla... Then i said i don't see any new base station is going to build from the coverage map, he answered me the coverage map is outdated~~ =.=||

I really wordless..... LOL...
I subscribe iZZi because of the flexibility and good speed. Now i really felt regret cause i didn't subscribe for streamyx.... Sad... sad.gif
But, there are still ppl got nice speed (serdang lama 1)... I think is because of the bandwidth in certain area cannot support the user of that area... tongue.gif
*
most possible it's due to not many izzi users in serdang area. however i believe once there are users signing up at that area, speed will going downhill very soon.-----> base station cant 'digest'. that's not only my experienced, but also others. sweat.gif

im now sastify with my streamyx service. thumbup.gif

Errr...what is so different between your speed test results and your "30-60 download speed from Thunder"?  30KB/s is approximately 240kbps while 60KB/s is approximately 480kbps.  Looking at your speedtest results, I'd say they were quite consistent?

Unless I'm being stupid again in my calculations...if so please forgive me... blush.gif

For a 1mbps liine that Izzi is supposed to deliver, you should be getting a speed of around 125KB/s maximum.  A little less depending on wireless transmission overhead.  But still, it should be hovering around the 100KB/s mark which is equivalent to 800kbps.

BTW, does anyone know if the product is transferable?  I really don't want to wait till mid January to cancel my subscription to get 6 months of my money back...if I could sell it off to a third party now, I'd give one month free subscription laugh.gif

hey,

i saw 1 izzi agent posted tat if any1 want to refund the izzi terminal may contact him. i think u can search the forum. i cant remember his nick but topic should be related to izzi promotion. he said he will pay u cash instead of waiting the cheque from izzi. hopefully this help.
