sorry ler bro.. like that you can't get 5.1 surround sound from PS3. To do so, you'll need compatible home theater system that at least accepts digital in (optical / hdmi). looks like yours cant so.... time to upgrade

his HT only have 1 input for his dvd player... assuming that he have additional analog input for PS3, he won't get 5.1 surround with analog input. Only stereo or all channel stereo (meaning all speakers playing at same time). He'll never get real surround effect which is a waste for PS3

sorry ler bro... a lot of ppl make the same mistake. should only get HT with at least optical input or ideally with HDMI input to enjoy full surround effect with PS3 gaming or Bluray.

i think for entry level system that supports HDMI will cost about RM2k... sony has this. If your pocket a little deeper, you can go for separate systems i.e. buy an AV Receiver (Full HD Onkyo/yamaha/denon etc) + 5.1 speaker system etc.. which will cost more.. at least 5k??

FYI... dunno how u guys define poor but in my dictionary, poor ppl have trouble getting a roof over their heads, food, clothing & education.....

if u can afford a PS3 with LCD etc..... and a student, and claim to be poor, i really need to update my dictionary d
