James831, need your honest opinion. Is it enough with 24" for you? You're using it in your room or living room or where?
I'm still thinking either to get 24" or 32" (which costs more and need to wait till I have enough moo-lah).

Yeah I know, actually, I'm like still can't make a choice for either 24" Dell LCD Monitor or 32" LCD TV. I mean, both is fine. 40" is waaayy too much for me. Its just that is it worth it to get a 24" Dell. IINM, the 24" Dell can do 1080p and mostly 32" LCD TV only up to 720p. *sigh* Can't make decision. Lol. Thanks anyway.

sorry i like to advise you on the electrical point of view.
try to avoid sharing the same AC plug with the refrigerator  / placed with any other electrical appliances especially yr lcd TV / PS3.

when the refrigerator is running, it induces noise called 'ac motor noise'.
symptom is sometimes you'll notice mosquito noise/ weird lines running on yr tv screen unless yr TV has CMRR( common mode rejection) then it may prevent it.

there is a case in a hotel whereby 30 out of 60 tvs that they purchased broke down within 3 years. this is due to the ac motor noise has been feedback into the tv switching power supply which causes the switching power transistor to act abnormally and broke down respectives to time.

you might be interested to do a little experiment of yr own by pluging yr lcd tv ac plug /w the refrigerator on the same AC plug extension. turn on yr tv and switch AC On/Off yr refrigerator randomly. do it on yr risk ~

bro, just isolate yr refrigerator or move it outta yr room. probably you can shift elsewhere in yr room but does that guarantees the internal wiring in the wall is still connected.

Whoa... shocking.gif
I didn't know that... I will isolate the fridge. Ummm, what if I used AVR for the plug? Same thing? Any other way of preventing it besides having CMRR?

well you may choice to get a transformer to isolate yr tv & ps3 system.

means AC mains connected to yr fridge. then another extension to a transformer 240V-0-240V. then yr ps3 & lcd tv take the main supply thru this transformer.

the main purpose is to isolate the motor noise.

When you say motor noise, its electromagnetic interference correct? hmm.gif

well, its quite easily identified whether yr AC Main GND is noisy or clean.

Get an Audio amplifier w/ loudspeaker . Hook it up ~  you'll hear worstcase motorboat engine sound or not so serious : loud hissing sound if its noisy. if its clean ~ its completely silent.

On the same AC main extension plug, ~ insert a hair dryer and turn it on. then experiences it by hearing thru yr loudspeaker.

the best is use an isolated transformer..  its not only protect against surge , noise but also lightning. you can easily find one in Hi-Fi Audio Shoppe.

if you're not concern bout outlook go pasar road and request them to customize one transformer rated :  1 kVA (240-0-240).  make a housing for it then its good enough to prolong yr life on yr equipments / electronic devices.

Ic... got any brands u can recommend? High end to low end, if possible smile.gif Thanks!

ummm some setups I see are quite unhealthy for the ps3. You do realize the manuals say to let 10cm at least clearance from the heat vent from the back right? The air the PS3 blows out is quite hot. The manual also did mention that prolonged exposure to the hot air can cause low degree burns.

It does say 10cm (4") away from the wall. Thank God mine is further than 4 inches rolleyes.gif
