When you say motor noise, its electromagnetic interference correct? hmm.gif
*
nope the motor noise generated from yr refrigerator's engine and return to AC main thru the GND line.and it will creep into yr LCD tv & PS3 thru the GND line since it is common ground.

when you reference a voltage with respect to the noisy GND . yr electronic components device will behave abnormal. over time you'll see the effect.
if you've a scope you can probe yr AC gnd and observe there is spikes if its noisy.

bose00: Hmmm so the best means is for the electrical device to go through a voltage regulator then ??

I am bit paranoid as my PC got fried due to spiky currents. So my current setup for my LCD and watnot is

socket => Voltage Regulator => UPS => Devices.

Now thinking of getting the belkin spike protector and telephone line protector

well, its quite easily identified whether yr AC Main GND is noisy or clean.

Get an Audio amplifier w/ loudspeaker . Hook it up ~ you'll hear worstcase motorboat engine sound or not so serious : loud hissing sound if its noisy. if its clean ~ its completely silent.

On the same AC main extension plug, ~ insert a hair dryer and turn it on. then experiences it by hearing thru yr loudspeaker.

the best is use an isolated transformer.. its not only protect against surge , noise but also lightning. you can easily find one in Hi-Fi Audio Shoppe.

if you're not concern bout outlook go pasar road and request them to customize one transformer rated : 1 kVA (240-0-240). make a housing for it then its good enough to prolong yr life on yr equipments / electronic devices.
