What’s the best bang for buck headunit for Myvi lagi best 2013 that is under 1k? Most importantly is not lagging during operation. Would be a plus if can connect reverse camera.

Thanks in advanced

If you want the cheapest option, minimum I would recommend is the TS18. It might not be as powerful as the TS10/7832, but it's good enough (I am also using one).

true. the radio chip and sound processor is actually same as TS10. i also want to buy this last time, but due to RAM 2G, then i bought the TS10 4GB.
TS18 2GB/32GB rm500++
TS10 4GB/32GB rm700++
both are not include installation/casing/cable.

TS18 got 3GB as well. Mine is. Honestly don't think you need that much RAM to be fair, unless using 360 camera

yeah. but 3GB is hard to find stock, plus extra few RM for extra RAM should be better because i like the system wont fully use the RAM when i run multiple apps in background because this way wont lag.
if u notice after system reboot. it already use almost 2GB for background apps, OS etc.

Never really noticed to be honest. I only use mine for Headunit Reloaded and use Android Auto from my phone. Using the head unit directly is quite distracting sweat.gif

Thanks will look into that, was looking for something that could be reliable down 4-5 years road.

How much you bought the TS18 and what’s the installation fee looks like?

https://shopee.com.my/product/733520951/150...63-1652763591.9

I was thinking to buy this model, what do you think?

Thanks in advanced

The price seemed very reasonable.

So would you recommend to get the TS10 8GB version as a better bang for buck or it’s just gimmick for such high ram given.

Looking at this model though

IIRC most shop will charge RM60 for installation of head unit and RM60 for reverse camera. If you kautim a bit, you can get lower.

IIRC from xda-developer forums, people who tested the TS10/7832 said that the firmware only allows RAM up to 6GB. So it's a waste buying 8GB

yes. if use only those. should be fine.
i dont like use my phone while driving, android auto actually not good enough for me.
direct use is much better.
waze/maps/spotify/ with split screen, player video from pendrive/watching youtube for my kids etc.
i also put 4G sim into that headunit, so totally dont touch my phone when i enter my car. even i set it as hotspot for my phone laugh.gif
so my usage might be more than u.

there is diff cpu speed compare the TS10 and TS18. the unisoc UIS7862 chipset is better and high-end compare the chipset in TS18 even thou both have same core.

TS10 and 7862 essentially uses the same chip. difference is on the motherboard design and software customization. TS10 will run a single channel DSP 48band while 7862 runs 2 channel dsp 16 band for each channel. Amp output for TS10 is superior compared to 7862 but TS10 doesn't hold a candle if you're talking about SQ or audio clarity. TS10 is just vanila or android kosong slapped with manufacturer's custom add on. Ecosystem is locked, they will hinder users from modifying the internal. 7862 is open, UI and software is yards more polished. The essential items are displayed outside only technical configuration settings are placed in the engineering mode. unlike TS10 there's 2 hidden engineering mode which is very confusing.

4 is bare minimum which can ge you through for another 1 to 2 years before its going to run out of breath. software developers now are designing apps to work with minimum 6gb android machines, unless you're using google's official product where optimization is done from the proprietary google Android OS itself. e.g Pixel & chrome.
solely depends on your dashcam whether it can support streaming on the fly. when you stream your dash cam will need to work 2-3x harder. heat can shorten the life of your dashcam.
*
QUOTE(megahertz @ May 16 2022, 12:31 PM)
if i were u, i would keep both independent. because you will get better quality if using independent dashcam, and if ur headunit got problem etc, at least ur dashcam will work.
and if you just need to see the view, why not install the dashcam apps and stream from there ?, but normally it will stop recording.  is there any reason why u want to view the dashcam on ur headunit , minus correcting the view angle ?

on headunit, if u need to see the view like the back, then install the reverse cam or other aux cam connect to ur headunit, can install both front and rear.. this way u can always view the cam while driving.

for reverse/parking etc, you can install 360 camera, but need upgrade ur headunit that support this.

Thanks both.

Thanks for helping out mate! I had decided to go for TS10.

Wondering do you happened to know any reliable seller through online as I can’t find these through local stores.

I surf through taobao and see some of the 7862 that has 2k resolution. Would it better to buy from taobao as compared to Shopee or Lazada?

Deen assalam and mo men tum are some of the reputable Facebook seller. For 2k resolution someone locally has started selling under mekebe. Same specs as 8gb but the screen and android interface is different.

Yeah. Because the device won't actually be able to utilise the extra 2GB ram, so the performance of 6GB and 8GB will be mostly similar. Hence why people on XDA were saying better off saving monies by buying the 6GB models

How to find out differences? From their description? But seems many sellers share the same info.

You said "Same specs as 8gb but the screen and android interface is different." How to find out before buy? Which seller you bought at the end and got firmware update after bought?

I target to buy either from Deen assalam and mo men tum for 10 inch 6+128 Mod CC3 firmware but now seems no stock or 8+128 which I think not required the extra 2gb.

both TS10 and 7862 is same chipset, but diff motherboard layout. so both firmware is diff and have diff android interface. both also diff sound quality and diff DSP layout.
can say like android smart phone, have same chipset ( eg snapdragon) but is from 2 diff company. ( eg xiaomi, samsung etc ).

as for the screen, also same. when manufacturer built this, they can use diff type of screen, depending on their selling price. much expensive unit might have good screen with QLED, that show sharp and good viewing overall.( eg like teyes ccs3, the price is quite expensive than others, and they are reputable brand) but cheap 1 normally using same chipset, but they put normal screen as to lower the manufacturing cost, so they can sell more cheaper.( eg normal chinese brand, random name, but have same chipset as teyes ccs3, even can mod to fit the teyes ccs3 firmware so the interface is same, but functionally is not same 100% ) .

dont believe anything seller say for the 2K resolution. even the teyes ccs3 only came out with 1280 x 720 QLED +2.5D screen., this is HD only, not even FULL HD. laugh.gif unless its very reputable brand, you might want to google if the spec is correct. if its just chinese brand, then most likely its marketing gimmick.

i think 6GB should be nice, even 4GB also ok if you dont heavily use ur android player and using few apps at the same time.

i hv heard good feedback on deen assalam and the price he sell quite cheap. last time i did pm him to buy, but since he dont hv stock, i bought from someone else.

Hello Guys, I am planning to get a Android Head Unit for my Old Kancil 1994.

Kenwood

Will this be good enough? I just need it to connect to my Spotify and play songs from there.

Or should i get TS18? I cant seem to find the 3GB variant

Thank you for your help

7862 6gb+128gb is nicer for me but currently deen assalam only sell 8gb+128gb and by comparison his price is now same as Momen Tum Beh. Have to wait or 6gb+128gb may no longer produce? Which seller you bought after all?
