my guess, Msia price would be rm3k+ close to rm4k which one can buy a mavic pro instead. older, yes, but fly further and more stable.

What do you guys use this for?

I feel like most just buy, use once or twice then collect dust.

i love to sightsee from high places. oh and also sunset views. they're beautiful when viewed from height without anything else blocking your view.

i dont record video & post youtube though, just live viewing.

I draw a parallel to me having a gopro 6.

I only bring it out during vacations which is like once a quarter, so it doesnt get much use compared to how much I paid for it. Should have bought an sjcam instead.

i play with my younger borther's mavic. before that it was a spark. kinda nice feeling flying high up at 100m in the sky looking at neigbouring towns and all.

unless you are photographer , or else dont waste money to use few times then collect dust

est this will be 2.2-2.4k comes MY. i know they have ability to punch in 4k camera into that body. id skip until they put up 100mb 4k60 into this size.

dji is trying to conquer all level of price range..

not bad since its weight means can dodge faa regulation, can fly anywhere.

399 sounds like rm2k plus in here though

No 4k reso....no hnnnggghhhhhh.....better get Mavic Air

quite alot of missing features though

- no 4k
- no 3-Directional Environment Sensing
- no smartcapture

Ppl usually go for the flymore package so 499 it is.

still it is pretty good price for almost a mavic spec

u want those feature you buy a mavic straightaway, not a mini

it sits between Hubson Zino and Fimi 8se, in budget segment of quad with 3 axis gimbal.

Zino is priced at $279 while Fimi 8se around $450-499.(the price is for the basic version).

but do take note that the controller signal are wifi based - similar to spark's and not based on RF likethe mavic 2s.

although it claimed to have better signal reception than spark punya lah....

No RAW photo and camera too small (2700 pixels wide only). Otherwise it is a great design. Flight time is very good.

Is meant for the mass consumer who only using smartphone (not DSLR) to shoot photos or videos.

Light and small is of course good. People always want the smaller, the better.

But cannot fly high or in strong winds. Strong winds will blow it away....

There's 2 different batt capacity. JP one smaller capacity hence lighter weight

Have been researching for a bit.

Mini doesn't have 'follow mode', obstacle avoidance scanner, object recognition.

i dont think got separate local or imported set. there is really no official DJI Malaysia here if I am not mistaken
some sellers put official DJI warranty and they also say Local Manufacturers Warranty vs Local Supplier Warranty - I dunno, I will just go for lowest price. And if the difference is not much - go for Local Manufacturers Warranty

maybe some DJI experts can explain more

I think the dji store in lowyat ground floor should have the stocks by now.

Mini drones are meant for line-of-sight flight. Just because its range can go out of sight doesnt mean you should fly it blind.

for blind flight of course go for drone with all the bells and whistles.

the mini is good for some short distance photos and group selfies.

AFAIK malaysia does not have the 150g restriction. will we have one in the near future? if no, i might as well buy a mavic air instead.
