don't bother with 4K monitor now, it's expensive and not worth it
better grab a decent 4K TV which is better

you can't fully appreciate a 4K content on a 32" anyway
so IMO it's better to grab a 32" 2k monitor with your budget

1) None yet, will leave it for others but you probably should mention your usage too
2)
If you want to see pure numbers, https://stari.co/tv-monitor-viewing-distance-calculator
If you want to see explanation and then only detail, https://www.esportstales.com/tech-tips/idea...om-your-monitor

at 4k, you should be sitting from 1 feet to 2.1 feet (30-64cm) to be able to see the benefits of 4k.

3) If you have only one monitor then curve is okay but there will be price premium to it normally that makes it more worth it to go for larger size laugh.gif (personally I would have gone for 43 inch 4k if my hardware supports it)

Do note that you need to have either a dedicated gpu with at least displayport 1.2 and above or a haswell build and above with displayport 1.2.

As for 4k tv vs 4k monitor, its each to its own, 4k tv in general have higher input lag even on game mode. Finding a model that suits you would be better in terms of things that you want would be better. 4k tv normally uses hdmi 2.0 which is only available from gtx 900 series and above while 4k monitor normally has dp 1.4 (but a dp 1.2 gpu would suffice because dp 1.2 gpu can support up to 4k@60hz)

You will see the benefits in using a 4k monitor compared to 2k because we tend to sit near to our monitor (otherwise reading text would be a pain if its too far, media consumption is okay).

Depending on his viewing distance 4k may worth the money

I'm still waiting for 4K IPS monitors to drop in price to less than RM 1.5K.
I've been eyeing the LG 27UK600 for a while but the price doesn't move cry.gif

My use case is for photo editing and desk work (not gaming), so a larger monitor is less preferable to a higher dpi monitor - so 4K monitor at 27" or smaller is better than 32" for me. Unfortunately with less than RM 2K budget, there are not many options.

Is this an IPS panel? The ASUS website is deliberately vague on its actual panel type.
1ms GtG seems to imply it is not IPS.

I agree with this, been researching about monitors for months, and I've been to a bunch of computer shops with 4K display to test and game.. it really doesn't look 4K when the monitor is 27inch or 32inch.. Has to be like 60inch display for 4k to actually look really good, that's why TV's for 4k don't have 30inch or lower. Thus I'm getting a 2k monitor myself.

Just not practical to have a 60 inch monitor as a display for desktop, I actually bought a new 4K TV few months back and tried to use it just for fun for a few days.. Patah leher.. it's like watching a movie at the cinema the most front seat laugh.gif

its depend on ur viewing distance.. if looking at more than 2-3 meter its doesnt matter..if for work purpose sitting less than 1 meter distance..even 32inch 4k will start to pixelate.. i bought dozen of monitor b4 and only 27" 4k satisfied me

https://www.sven.de/dpi/ imo u will get fine pixel view at around 150ppi if for work purpose

anyway its ur preferences

and also TV and monitor are totally difference things..seems similar but different quality

Just bought myself Viewsonic VX3211 4k mhd 32 inch 4k uhd monitor yesterday night. Happy with it now. The screen is so big that you have to be sure that your computer table or desk is big enough to shelf it.
It supports 95% NTSC wide colour gamut coverage, 80M:1 dynamic contrast ratio and HDR10
The best part is it only cost me RM1399. It has 1 DP port, 2 HDMI port.

Word of advise, if you are planning to use it mainly for gaming then you have to invest at least RTX 2070 Super upwards to make it possible or your system is going to struggle on the resolution and frame rate. By the way, this model supports only 60Hz. Good for normal gaming. Not meant for competitive gaming though.

Hi,

I'm struggle on choosing this model or the BenQ EW3270U, although they both similar spec except viewsonic 8 bit and benQ 10 bit color, plus viewsonic is more cheaper here, i'm being hold back by seeing many review stating it's color is bit un-naturally red toned. Do you have this issue?

It will be great to get some advice from you before decide.

Thank you. thumbup.gif

The color can be tuned to your taste. Not a big deal actually. However, I have since changed to ultrawide now and so get uses to it, a bit tough for me to go back to 4K aspect ratio now.

I am currently considering
Dell S2721QS 27" and Asus VF289 28"

Primary usage will be programming, graphic editing.

Too bad S2721QS shortage stock
