Hello everyone,

I am currently in the market for an entry level gaming laptop. My main purpose for it will only be regular web browsing, movies and playing Dota 2. I came across this brand on Lazada and was wondering if any of you have had / am using Machenike laptop(s).

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe this particular product that I am interested in offers a lot of bang for my buck. *If you know of another product that offers even more, do let me know.*

My main concern is, however, their after sales service. If you have had / am using Machenike laptop(s), how was / is your after sales experience with them?

TL;DR
What do you think of Machenike?

Clevo/Tongfang rebrand but sketchy - probably uses low quality RAM/storage, or even worse: reject mobo (common in China brand)

no aftersales, buy from Illegear or Level51 if you want assurance

I see, is there a way to identify whether the internal hardware are of low quality or from rejected sources? Thanks for your recommendation, I'll definitely check them out.

I guess when worse comes to worst, customers will have to formally raise a dispute with Lazada which they should honour since this seller is part of their "LazMall?

Yes, that is perhaps the biggest concern for most customers out there. Hopefully there's a way to at least make sure the internal hardware are of decent quality, and this should be done in 15 days.

So it's all down to whether a person is willing to take the risk, and for some, the amount one can save initially, provided everything else works fine, is a huge motivator. I might be wrong but I think laptops from reputable brands in the same category cost about 1 to 2 thousand ringgit more.

If I remember correctly, the closest I've seen is from HP. Only difference between the two is the storage, HP comes with 1TB of 5200RPM HDD whereas Machenike offers 512GB PCI-E SSD. Everything else is the same, even the price difference is negligible. Machenike also offers an upgrade of the screen to 144Hz for an additional RM100.

The one from the Pavilion series, with the green coloured keys. Not sure about the exact model number. Comes with ninth generation i7, 8GB RAM (not sure if it's DDR4) and GTX 1650.

The 16GB RAM and convenient after sales service are definitely a plus. However, after opting for Windows 10 Home it’ll be over the 4k mark.

I'm confident that the Machenike also has W10 Trial, common in custom laptops

You don't need to activate Windows 10 in order to use it fyi

According to their CS, I was told that it will come pre-installed with Windows 10 Pro (trial), and when I asked about the Windows 10 Home 64-bit stated in their product description, I received the following reply “sorry, that’s our mistake, we can give you a product key after you receiving the laptop”.

I agree that Windows 10 need not be activated in order to use the PC, but it does offer a greater peace of mind.

Get a laptop that has an established service network here. If it breaks, you will have a big headache.

Looked through the above...but seems like still cheaper to go with this Machenike brand...spec wise...
But of course QC is another matter...which asking here to guage on that.

Side note:
Inflation brought on by this COVID sucks in more ways than one.

its good.
there has service center somewhere in klang valley if i am not mistaken.
why u must curious with service center? did u plan by a laptop and believe it will damage soon?

i had buy lot of laptop. many brand, many type and no one are send back to service center.
i believe the laptop damage is cause by misshandling by user itself.

i am it guys and facing many scenario when user request unlogic things which lead to damage to the system.

Thanks, good to know your experience with the laptop is good so far.
But as with all manufacturing, there is a margin of error...so that's where the QC part comes in.
Are they stringent or less...so just in case...good to know there is a service centre to fall back on if anything f-up.
The service centre is also a sign they are vested in the M'sian market.
If not mistaken, most service center's are 3rd party companies anyways...but at least they bother to set it up.

Well, to anyone who bought the i5 11th gen RTX 3050ti model from Machenike, my experience so far was quite unlucky as mine had to be sent to the service center.

The service center they requested me to send it is Highpoint Service center in Subang Jaya to those who are curious. Currently and it is received by them on the 18th February 2022. My CPU was throttling and GPU was a bit stuttering when playing Apex Legends and CS GO on the lowest HD settings. Overall, at least they send it to a proper service center but then the service center is a different department for my case. Hopefully it does not take too long.

Yes and No. They sent it to China for diagnosis and they said it was motherboard problem. They sent a replacement through online purchase on Lazada. However, the first replacement broke due to careless courier and had to wait for around a week to process the new order. Now waiting the second one to be received and hopefully everything works properly. They basically gave a voucher to reduce the price to 99% and paid some fee to cover the shipping cost.

Sorry for the late reply

From the comments, it looks like the fan sound is quite loud. Not that cheap either compared to brand ones. Your choice.
