Dear All,

Please recommend any good brand of garden hose with reel.
Hose - I need very durable one, can last for few years under sun (Outdoor)
Reel - Easy to roll back the hose & able to mount on wall

Thanks in advance. I buy the green colour hose from hardware shop which he recommended, 2 years only become hard to roll back reel.

I am also using the green hose. Do agreed that the quality it not good now compared to the one I used few years back. Currently I using 50m length and dont have many choice in the market.

When you want to roll back, ensure that the hose is still filled with water. Off the noozle but dont off the main tap. Once is done, then only turn off the tap. I dont have issue with this.

I m using this kind of hose. Not sure the quality hose now.

Been 20yrs outdoor rain and shine.

I think it's also related to how you reel back and keep the hose from twist and bend that can last longer.

For reel, try to find a stainless steel reel.

I have changed a few reels. Plastic and steel. Plastic will brittle in a few yrs under the sun. Steel will rust also but last longer than plastic.

In all, the hose survives the longest.

Just paint the casing with acrylic water proof paint. The casing will be covered with the rubberized acrylic paint that will last 10 years. Then repaint. I used pentens t200

That is provided you have the paint. The paint 5 litre costs RM65 enough to cover one porch slab. I used the left over to paint over rot wooden knight handle, plastic handles of grass trimmer, garden plastic hose connectors, iron mesh, water pressure meter, hammer handle just dip in the paint and let dry. The rubberized paint is very thick when painted on the iron mesh is just like our home wire insulated with rubber. Since it is UV protection anything under the sun and rain is good to use.

Is it a clear acrylic paint ? Can get it from hardware shop or ACE ?

But if you said like rubberized, it is something like a Plasti Dip ? Cause I use before Plasti Dip to coat thing.

I have macam macam paint/coat in my store room. I use to try and error anything.

No, it is not the clear acrylic paint. The clear acrylic paint is very thin even with multiple coats. This paint comes with 3 solid colors, grey, white and green. It is a waterproof paint membrane for roof slabs prevent water seepage. The paint can be stress like rubber when dried. Can be found in hardware shop, lazada, shopee. Just type pentens T200

Choose between durability UV protection and beauty, ha-ha. Anyway if you want original colour you can search taobao for clear transparent paint. You know China have everything under the sun.

So far I had good experience with the Hokah tornado (green colour) hose. 10m only 30 bucks free shipping.

If there is a need for constant irrigation, like watering a lawn, can consider using those black piping hydroponic hose) to bury into the ground so you can water the whole place without needing to walk alot

You can only get durable hose if you are willing to pay. I used to do hose sale 15 years ago. I'm still using the same hose that I got back then. The real problem is the price.

You probably can get 10M gardening hose for RM30 or less. However those good ones that you can baked under the sun forever without losing quality (it does not harden at all, just some discoloration) are Japanese brand hose made from silicone. Even if you buy in bulk (ie 100m roll), it cost about 2K++. I'm not sure if the price has gone up or what since that was what I was quoted about 5 years ago.

I use polyurethane hose for irrigation. It can stand high pressure but not sure under the sun. The hose 7/11 under the pressure. (Auto irrigation)

Been a yrs.

Run across the garden and wall to the plant.
