Better service and after sales support, for one.

After I visited Official Apple Store in Taiwan few weeks back, I have been hoping one day there has one apple store in Malaysia too.

By then, there is competitive for those third party resellers.
*
Yup, also having an Apple Store here means there'll be a chance we get other services like Apple Care+ and Apple Pay in our country.

QUOTE(jagadis @ Jan 30 2020, 05:21 PM)
Yes. And for people like me who store everything on the cloud. I pay for iCloud for my apple devices, have one drive for work and G drive for misc things. Also, I have 5TB of storage space at home.

For music, I use spotify and Google music. For videos, Netflix, Prime videos, Youtube premium, and Apple TV+.

I really don't need the extra space.
*
Exactly that. 256GB is way overkill for some people - me included smile.gif

Yeah I think we need a 128GB iphone instead of 256gb.. 64 is quite limited but bearable. I also use cloud storage for photos so I don't keep that many photos on my phone anyway.
*
Ya, for the premium price of the iPhone, 128GB should be the minimum storage size sad.gif

Visited Official Apple Store in Bangkok at IconSiam shopping mall today.

Obviously, the store design is standard and not standalone building but inside the shopping mall with one floor.

A lot of people inside and I was just walking around, still impressive it... second Apple Store visited after Taiwan

Hopefully next target is The Apple Store in Jewel at Changi Airport 😁
*
I've been to the Jewel one, it's rather small but less crowded compare to the one on Orchard Road. But yeah, the layout and everything else is pretty standard.

anyone went from 5.8 (xs) to pro max and regretted the size upgrade?

The additional battery life makes it worth the upgrade though smile.gif

Hi guys,
Anyone previously from Android & jump ship to iPhone 11?
What are the disadvantages of iOS compared to Android?

My last iPhone was iPhone 4 and has been using Android ever since
However I might want to consider jumping back to iOS because wanted to have seamless integration with my iPad
*
Been switching between iPhone and Android regularly and credit where credit is due, most Android devices nowadays are lag-free and can match just about anything the iPhone can do, or maybe even do it better but what you won't get with Android is the Apple ecosystem, which is the seamless integration of all your Apple devices and also features like iMessage and Facetime with your friends/relatives using Apple devices. Also, because of the control Apple has over both hardware and software, iOS apps are optimised better and you get faster updates and bug fixes compared to Android - with the exception of OnePlus perhaps, I'm quite impressed by their updates rollout frequency. Also, it could be perception, but I tend to believe my Apple devices are that bit more secure than my Google devices smile.gif

For me the most painful part about switching between iOS and Android is the inability to move WhatsApp chat history between devices so that also is a consideration if you keep long history and need to refer there every now and then.

i see even after paying, still no accessibility to transfer WhatsApp messages from android to ios?
*
If you pay for the third party app Backuptrans, then yes, you can transfer your WhatsApp chat history from iOS to Android and vice versa.

I have been using umobile for the last 4 years.... any advice which telco provide cheapest way to get iphone 11 pro?
*
Since you would be signing a contract for 2 years, best make sure the telco you go with has good coverage where you live, work and play. No point getting a phone cheap but not being able to get a good connection every time smile.gif

This is mine, hahaha... nice bit of nostalgia...

It's crazy how we went from big phones to wanting very small phones then back to wanting very big phones again.

*
No, you can't, especially if it's telco lock. Best not to risk it.

Yea its not telco lock. So even if its not lock cant claim warranty here ? What does international warranty means ? Guess i gotta check with apple malaysia then.
*
Ah, not telco lock, sorry, I read wrongly. In that case, warranty claim will be on case to case basis, but the authorised service centre has the right to refuse your claim base on Apple's warranty policy:

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE, iPAD, APPLE TV AND HOMEPOD SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and HomePod to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

Too soon to say for now. Foxconn says their production is back to normal but worldwide demand has slowed considerably due to this virus. I guess phones are the last thing on people's minds right now laugh.gif

Hi Sifusss, I want to purchase iPhone, is it better to go back Apple retailer shop to buy? Or go SenHeng to purchase? Because SenHeng got extra 2 years warranty offer for Citibank credit card user. Not sure can buy additional AppleCare for iPhone or not. Thanks for advise
*
Senheng is fine, if they have stock.

And no, you can't purchase Apple Care for iPhone in Malaysia.

Guys, is it risky to update to IOS 13.4 at this point in time ?
I am worried in case the update process fxxks up, then there is no way to send it to Mac center for repairs, and ayam got no spare fone somemore. Using Ip 11 Pro Max here.
*
Wife's iPhone 11 Pro Max has been running 13.4 for couple of days now. She noticed no strange behaviours thus far.

Hey guys i need some advice, i updated my business plan for my company few weeks and i was entitled to receive a Unit of Iphone Max Pro 256GB before the MCO lockdown. Celcom has already updated me last week that my plan already been updated but my phone is still stuck cos they said alot of store has been closed due to MCO. Is that any store i can walked in to collect mt phone instead asked them to deliver for me? cos they cant promise me a date to deliver since MCO might be extended.
*
Certain Celcom outlets are opened from 10am - 4pm during the MCO. Maybe contact the store nearest fo you (within 10km) and see if they have the phone in stock.

Just want to share some ouch moments.

iPhone 11 Pro Max accidentally drop into a sink while water was running. Green lines appear after 30 minutes of usage.

Send to QCD Sunway for iPhone repair.

LCI Triggered (Water paper triggered)
Cost of repair RM3350 - basically entirely a new unit replacement. No repairs will be done.

Now dilemma, 6 months old phone only. Proceed or not. *sigh*
*
Ouch... Very painful...

If it were me, I'd probably not repair it and get a cheaper alternative for now.
