Hello parents,

Good day.

I would need your piece of advice (if you have any) for my son's condition. I know that you will tell me to meet the doctor as soon as possible but i would want to know if you have any experience in this particular case.

My son is 2 years 3 months old, normal body weight, normal height and happy go lucky kid

But since a month ago, he has been sick on and off. Not very high fever though, averagely 37.5 to 38 or highest was 38.5 - only once reached 39

We went to see the peds specialist, nothing alarming nor no virus/bacteria. Blood tested and nothing is irregular as well

I have brought him to Gleneagles and peds specialist in Publika (just in case if you asked me to seek for 2nd option)

The thing is, the fever is not completely gone! My son will be normal for 5 days and feverish for 5 days and this cycle has been repeating on and off for a month (the first date 20 Sept)

We have already met the doctors, taken antibiotic, control his outdoor activity, everyday eating fruits, supplements has given (Sambucol and Appethon), NO AC at night - basically everything is well-taken care off!

He does attend pre-school/nursery though - I know the fact that kids that are going to the nursery would have averagely 12-18 times of fever a year which I can accept the fact because previously he is sick for a once month only

But now he will be sicked for every week! I have been pumping paracetamol to reduce his fever and it has been going for a MONTH! I DO NOT WANT TO OVERDOSE HIM nor Damaging his liver but im facing a roadblock now

What should i do?
A) to seek for 3rd opinion
B) Embrace it and just hope it will go away / the cycle will stop eventually
C) Stop giving paracetamol and let the fever to reach its peak and hoping for counter?

I dont know guys, i am hopeless now and tomorrow i will be going to meet the regular specialist of my son in Publika but I might want to bring to another specialist for 3rd opinion. Money is not the problem, i would sell off my kidneys just to ensure he is well and perfect. (He have insurance)

My apologies for the grammar

#PleaseHelp

assume u redi did skin prick test?

sounds like sumtin immunity related.. re-triggering when exposed to irritant

is he ok when out of the house for extended periods?

a journal of his daily events, etc would be helpful for a paed/researcher to look for patterns/clues.

Thank you for the reply.

I have not done other test except for Blood and Urine. Our peds did not advise us to do so, should we do it?

He is fine if out of the house for extended periods.

As for the journal, we may able to ask the diary from the school and I do have my personal records of his.

Try keep an eye on what food he eat and start to analyse if it happen after certain food.

I thought about this as well

Perhaps he has tonsillitis (I have), so anything that is too sweet would trigger the fever

He cant sit quiet, so sometimes the doctor can't really see his throat if there is an infection or enlarged tonsil

I will monitor closely

Did you try TMC?

My daughter had a cough that lasted 3 months. 3 diff Pedi didnt anything, just more and more med. Then we tried TMC at Tung Shin hospital, it didnt help (or maybe it did not sure), after that we bought a bottle of woods cough syrup from Watson and that did the trick.... (or maybe it was the combination of her immune system, the TMC med stnrenthing her body that did the trick).

3 months? What sort of meds did the peds provide? Was it Mucosolvan? Was it Prospan? Was it Broncolin Syrup? Asking cuz my peds provided them to us and so far the cough and phlegm did reduce in a few days. But still, the fever wont go away!

Did your daughter had repeated fever in between?

Bottle of Woods Syrup - How did you think of this med eventually?

Sorry for the questionings

Yes the usual. All the meds u listed, plus some kinds inhale stuff to reduce the phelgm that is in her lungs etc.. all sort of nonsense.

I personally think the TMC med that strengthen her body/immune system help fight off the disease.. and the woods help.

Now she cough we just go for woods and within 5~7 days all solved.

We bought the wood for kids.

Thanks for the replies, really appreciate it

I tried to search for 'TMC' or TMC at Tung Shin Hospital but no avail. Do you mind to provide a lil bit more info regarding TMC, please?

I will definitely try out TMC and Woods cough syrup if my son's fever has no improvement.

I kiddin you not, all these nonsense respiratory diseases brought to us via the fire burning from the indonesia

All these shits happen since then

Hello guys,

thank you so much for all the replies (although some were arguments)

Anyway, my apologies for the late reply as I was away.

I brought my son to Prince Court and identified the sickness

It was lungs infection (forgotten the scientific term) - It wasn't Pneumococcal

Dr Sharmila Kylasam is a very good Paed with a spot-on instinct

The moment we stepped into her room > she just looked at the way my son breathing and listen to our story > 10 mins thinking > Straight to Lung X-trays > Voila! both lungs were infected

Treated with antibiotics, nebulizer and Iv drips - My son is back to normal condition within 3 days.

Prince Court fees are not that expensive after all (I tot it was more expensive than Gleneagles)

Consultation at around MYR 130 which is a very fair price

All in we spent around 4K for 3d2n admission which is a very fair price as well

Anyway, thank you for your concerns and I recommend Dr Sharmila to the parents out there.

Peace out
