Slightly higher indeed but i have to opt for option.. They will first offer you a price where its as low as the dealer would take if you don't agree choose the auction method..

3 days after car inspection.. Before auction they will send you a link where you can monitor the bid.. I got close to rm4k extra through bidding no charges on you.. During transfer its done immediately as well.

I personally used Carsome recently to sell my car with a loan balance.

The process literally took just a few days, I barely had time to empty my car. Just have in mind the value of your car on used car websites to prepare yourself.

Step 1: Set appointment through the website, and go for the inspection. Bring a copy of your car grant if possible, if not, you can call your bank to email a copy, or go to the car loan branch and ask for the original. I left my car grant when going for the inspection, the guy simply asked me to WhatsApp the picture of it to him when I have it.

Step 2: If they offer price on the spot, just say you want to go for auction. They'll ask you to fill up a form to set the base price for the auction. Put the price lower than what you think you can sell, so they have "room" to bid for your car. If unsure, just put the higher range the Carsome guy suggest, and check again your car value on used car websites, go check out some dealer or something.

Step 3: a day or 2 later, they'll send you an email for the website link to watch your auction when it goes live. It's just 2 hours of bidding, no need to watch also no problem. You'll receive another email when it ends, of the final bid price. If no dealer bids for your car, you can re-auction your car with at least 5% lower than the previous price. Then it'll just go on auction again the next day. In my case, I set the price way to high the first time, then reluctantly set a lower price for 2nd auction, then it actually went up to a way higher price than what I set initially. So yeah, always give room for some bidding.

Step 4: after bidding ends, you'll get an email of final price offered, and you have 24hours to accept or reject. Again, no pressure, can just forget about it if not happy, try different website or find car dealers yourself.

Step 5: assuming you accept, you'll receive a call the next day, to set up an appointment to meet up with Carsome. Even if you still have loan balance, you don't really have to meet them at the bank branch, can just meet him anywhere convenient for you, pass your copy of license, IC, keys and car grant and they can settle for you. But surely can be scary to simply trust someone to like that, so tell them to meet at your car loan branch, have all the docs and PDF copy of your IC ready in your phone. In my case, I met the Carsome guy at the car loan bank branch during lunch hour as the car loan branches don't usually open on weekends.

Step 6: just head up to the car loan office at the bank branch and tell the guy that you're settling your loan with cheque. If unsure, just tell the bank guy that you're selling using Carsome, in my case he knows already it's settle by cheque instead of cash. He'll start some paperwork and give you the specific amount for settlement.

Step 7: Carsome guy will need to do his paper work also, and he'll write the cheque to the bank for whatever amount need to settle. Pass the cheque to bank guy, sign some papers to confirm payment. If your car price is higher than settlement amount, they'll ask you to fill in your bank details, and they will online transfer the rest. Once all is done (less than an hour for me), pass the car grant and your keys to the Carsome guy, and you're done! So make sure to clear your car before going.

I checked my bank app and my car loan cleared probably next day, and I received the balance from online transfer a few days after.

To be honest, I could've probably sold my car at a higher price if I really kaw kaw do research and find the best dealer in town myself. But the lower price from Carsome is simply for the sake of convenience and it really was that easy.

However, experience or price may vary on the car. I sold a Honda City that's only 3 ish years old, and got almost 10k over my loan settlement. If I did it myself, probably could've gotten a few k more, but again, I'm paying for convenience.

Feel free to ask anything else if you're unsure. Good luck!

Sold mine recently as well, i have already survey the car value before going to carsome, most of the dealer quoting (6-8k) but still need to inspect car first, carsome give me 7k after inspection which i think is fair enough and most the important is convenient, you can sell the car and get paid on the spot including transfer car ownership, hassle free ..

I've tried carsome before, totally against it because they low balled me like hell. I ended up selling my car to a private buyer, at least 6K more than what carsome offered me.

If i were to do it again, i would find my own private buyer (could be soon i think hehe)

Of course Carsome will low balled u.. They also need to make some profit when they letting the car to another dealer.

Its a good option if u need to sell the car fast and by cash.

I sold two cars recently, to me, both experiences are quite satisfied, efficient, price definitely higher than the rest of used car dealer, because of the bidding system

Just my thoughts, I'll recommend to anyone, by far the best, at least to me

Recently brought my Mazda 6 1st model to Carsome Kajang branch yesterday afternoon with appointment. After evaluation was given an offer of $8k, which I find too low. Their boss advised to go for bid, & so I signed the form which stated $8k as starting price.

Bid was today 12-3pm, with $6k listed as starting price, which I found fishy. Final bid offer came to &7.3k. I'm not going to accept their low ball offer & have decided to sell it myself. Will be a bit of hassle, but at least can get some extra $. The $300 rejection fee is waived until Mar 2020.

I think it is all depend on the car model got market or not. They are no different than normal used car dealers. if ur car model hv market demand definitely they will offer better price. No one will do rugi business right?

However, I've had a quite bad experience recently. They simply accused my car of having claimed 80% of the insurance after their system check. However, this is not true, as my car insurance NCD is 55%, and there has been no recent claim at all! If they do not want to accept my car can just tell me directly instead give me grandparents' stories ><

Hassle-free car sales though slightly lower sale price if you were to do your own.

selling car yourself via mudah or fb needs some patience. you will get some queries and only a handful will be serious to come view, then only 1 or 2 will be serious buyer and make offer.
carsome is fast and easy at the cost of few K below the price you can get from selling direct.
convenience and fast money just go carsome. or use them to get a base price.

Sold and surrendered my car with Carsome yesterday noon. Yet to get the fund from them, as they mentioned it takes within 48 hours to transfer. I guess the payment is not as fast it was 2 years back. However, very smooth and easy process eventho the price offered was slightly on the lower side.
