kobe8bryant... whether they like it or not it's their own opinion... you don't need to pour your own personal opinion as long you like it...

Let them be and let this see how the movie makes out of 4 day estimates... besides, reports are various... not everyone likes it... and not everyone hates it...

You can't just judge people by it... this movie still has flaws... even though J.J Abrams did an incredible job in the viral campaign marketing and more with Paramount Studios making this the most hush hush movie for this year, it has generate a lot of attention to this film... but at the end of the day, the reviews are mix reactions...

So just leave it be and be on the side where the crowd that people loves... making it as an argument to prove this movie is very good doesn't mean everyone accept it... I too don't like Narnia and can never understand why people love it... but that doesn't mean I have to tell everyone how bad this movie is... because to me, I don't like it and if people like it, that's okay by my own book...

Cloverfield at best is best describe with mix reviews... but what's important is as long you enjoy it, that's good enough.

For me, I don't like it at all because I was put off by the running and unnecessary scenes with further illogical situations that is fake... but then, I am going to watch it at least another 2 more times... I feel this movie is is much better watch in a smaller screen... I think the ones that said bad about this movie will feel otherwise...

I can't wait the figure of the cloverfield monster to come out.

From the last picture of the manga, IF the eyes were the monster's, it's either it followed the tagruato ship, or being drap by it back from the open sea.

Like I have said, I can't change people's opinions but wouldn't it be great to let them see things properly with facts included tongue.gif Not just my own theories. Hating it because it didn't have a back story? That's the point of Cloverfield. Those who have been following the ARG will know about the back story and those who haven't followed it will just the enjoy the movie by itself. No doubt, this ARG has its flaws but still, some of the negative reviews here are eyebrow raising.

Again, not knowing that is the fault of your own. Think of it as if you were experiencing the attack. Don't tell me if you were a victim of a sudden attack, you'd know who's behind it. Easy, take 9/11, how long was it before we knew it's Al Qaeda? So yes, it's meaningful smile.gif

as i have mention earlier, reading everything about the movie before even experiencing it yourself has already defeated the purposes of u even visiting the cinema....

if you could read everything about it, why even bother watching it? what many viewers around the world watches movie for the element of surprise what is coming from the story of the movie is very important. just like watching a football match.... if i were to tell you that a football ended at a 5-6... u would be surprise or even watch the game again... but what about the feel of hoping your team to win??

Using a user's example. If you hate KFC because you think the Spicy chicken is too spicy is retarded. If you hate KFC because it's fattening, it too is retarded.

Besides the shaky camera, it's a crappy storyline:

If you have to find the answer by doing your own research from website or elsewhere, or have to use your own imagination to answer so many questions, then solely judge the storyline, it already fail.

that is a rather selfish statement, how can you say people who dont like it are wrong?

camera shaking is just part of the issue, the story is rather simple, i can summarize it as a person trying to save his love one when a monster attack. Thats all that i can tell. There were no information on what the monster were, what damage it did, and did mankind stop it.... NO ONE KNOWS! all that i know is the main characters are dead or stuck under the bridge and lily was the only survivor..

meaningful?

dude, dont mean to hurt u.but i think u r one of those who watch a movie just because of the storyline.this movie's strength is not just the storyline.it is the whole movie itself.the camera.the effects.how one plot move to another.the characters.they are all great imo.and that made this movie the movie of the year at the moment.

Again, you don't have to know everything to judge it. Knowing who plays in a football match is different to knowing the score. I am asking you to check who plays in the match. You wouldn't know the score by the players playing, will you? wink.gif

Did I ask for reading everything? Knowing it's 84 minutes long and knowing it's shot using a camera hardly consists of everything.

Okay, let's make this clear...

This movie have a story actually...

Imagine yourself in where ever you are... then a MONSTER hits KLCC Kuala Lumpur area... you are holding your camera... what you will do best is record it... until whatever happens to you...

J.J. Abrams is using this gimmick (it was review by some critics and was mention a gimmick) to put the audience in a situation that the common people can't comprehend...

What was recorded by Hud and his friends is their story...

If the ones don't like it and don't understand it and say no story... I would like to throw a monster at you and see how you feel...

You don't need to know the origin where the monster comes from... because it's about Rob, Beth, Lily, Marlena and Hud's story... not the monster... it's about them in that situation when something unknown attack Cloverfield (by the way, Cloverfield is the name of a street... just found out from radio from Ryan Seacrest)... what if this happens to you? Of course you won't know where the monster come from... hence how would you know the origin?

Think about it...

I think it's retarded that someone thinks I hate someone who hates KFC. I think the person who hates KFC for it being fat is just silly. Besides, I thought we were civil here. Why resort to that?

Oh by the way, that's not Manhattan street... Manhattan is over the other island... Cloverfield is actually a name from one street outside Manhattan...

Well firstly, I am saying most of your complains could have been prevented if you just READ a little. Again, you go on about the element of surprise. Well suit yourself. Secondly, I don't hate you. I just think you are silly. Cheers. End of discussion.

Nothing is wrong with disliking a movie.

Judging a movie as being crappy due to stuff like camera shakiness/lack of explanation regarding monster etc is what is ticking certain ppl off.

U could say stuff like "I really disliked the whole handheld nonsense" But saying stuff like "zomg movie sux i lost 10 bucks wtf give me monies back" is just plain annoying.
It gives a false impression (to others who just poped into the thread) that the movie sucks for a fact when it was actually a matter of preference (and in this case,a lack of understanding of what the movie's concept is and what it was trying to convey,be it by the inclusion or exclusion of certain stuff)
