Apparently depsite Malaysia receiving an earlier look at Transformers the movie, The U.S Audience gain something much more.Before the Transformer was shown audiences manage to look at a trailer for an upcoming movie which had was produce by Lost creator J.J Abrams.The trailer start with a home video of a party for a guy named Rob who will be going Japan.Later there is a shrieking sound or more like a roar which resulted in blackout.When the power comes once again the news is reporting that a loud shriek was heard and when most of the people went outside there is  an explosion and also what seems like meteor falling down. More shriek or roar can be heard before there is something being thrown into the sky and it fall right in front of the camera and it turn out to be the head of Statue of the Liberty.Than the trailer ends before showing Produced by J.J Abrams and the released date which is 18th January 08.

Keep in mind that the whole teaser is shot from the home video camera ala Blair Witch Project.(And the whole movie will most likely be shot this way)

This trailer have cause much rumours around viewers in u.s as they storm to imdb.com

Up untill now no one knows what the monster really is most rumours claim that it is Chualula(not sure of the spelling) ,voltron,godzilla and even Dragonball z new movie

All in all that is the best marketing ploy ever.

But from the forum in imdb there is several sites still hosting it

The Cloverfield trailer doesn't impress me because the average action anime is already running mad circles around pretty much all Hollywood fare post LOTR.

Don't just jump on the hype-wagon just because you see others doing it.

In imdb there are those who said they can see the monster when the bridge collapses. My eyes hurt so much from watching a low qualitycommercial in utube.Although some says otherwise i still believe it is just dust and some part of the bridge structure falling

I too saw the monster using force to bang the bridge.
