 Astro PVR, remove harddisk

Hi All,

If i remove the astro pvr 500gb harddisk, will it stop working for astro channels?
i do not need to record.

i'm on njoi now

I see. They opened only NJOI channels. I think the problem would be when booting up, the selftest will fail HDD. Maybe it will still allow to continue to operate. You can try.

Why dont you try it yourself.

i opened up my astro pvr before.. It was not an astro njoy, but astro beyond pvr.. It is easy to remove hard disk, just like replacing pc's hard disk. However I didnt try to remove it and checked the astro channel at the same time. I opened up the decoder last time because I want to replace the hard disk only..

service cancelled and convert to njoi

my question is will the pvr unit work if no hdd?
its ok, tonight i will slaughter it

That's cheap. Only rm17 to convert the old box to njoi.

Just call customer service hotline.

Now need to pay rm50 to convert to old astro box to njoi.

not maybe. confirmed. i did it early this year.

one thing i note is the rm50 paid is still shown under my terminated account as -rm50. so i supposed in future if i need to convert back to normal astro account again. maybe the rm50 can still be recovered.

If you just watch Astro channels as usual, it will still work as usual.
And since you're already on Njoi, then it's pretty much no difference with or without the hard disk.

Lol... Initially when you connect it to your computer, what do you see in the hard disk?
What file system it uses? FAT32?

i didnt check, just format ntfs
