you didn't enable find my iphone? at least there is an activation lock. the thief won't be able to do much unless he strip it for parts or use dns to bypass activation lock

IMEI block only at the telco/regulator side. If the block is done in Malaysia, the phone is usable overseas and vice versa.
Activation Lock is the only way but at last, many phone shops can defeat it. |
