Hello. may i check if there is any company providing SQL accounting software.
currently we have a provider but they kept billing us weird cost which we're not sure if its actually correct or not.
Eg: they say we MUST update our computer EVERY YEAR if not our SQL software cannot use. most our computer is running at 2years old i5 or i3 8gb/4gb ram which our employees find no problem is using for the past 2 years.
And sometimes they will say this update cost money, they update cost money, etc etc. must update this must update that all cost money. we even pay an annual renewal fee etc.
hope someone can give me a 2nd opinion if that is normal?

Usually, there only yearly fees, last time my company using MYOB we pay them yearly and they provide support and cd update where we require to install by our selves...
I don't think you require to change your computer, they may be saying you require to change the Operating System cause maybe your computer using windows 7...
is it you request something special on your accounting system maybe there are an extra module that you request for the developer?
if no, maybe you may think to change the accounting system...why using SQL this is i can say quite old already...maybe you should think using Cloud Accounting system...more reliable and no need to worried about server and update...

Ever thought of migrating to Open Source solutions. You have option from full fledged ERP such as https://www.odoo.com/ or http://www.tryton.org/To single user standalone application such as https://gnucash.org/
