Need help Which gpu should I get? I mainly game on 1080p 144hz, I'm afraid that the 5700 XT would be an overkill. Should I save up that RM300 to buy a RX 5700 and get better pc parts or just get the RX 5700 XT for better future proofing? I've seen people flashing RX 5700 bios with RX 5700 XT bios to get better performance, is it worth it?

What games will you play, esports titles or AAA games. If esports, RX5700, RTX2060 or GTX 1660TI good enough
I have the Sapphire pulse RX 5700 xt for a month now, it's pretty good for performance, thermals, noise and price plus it's shorter so you can consider that for your needs.

I will get the RX 5700 and spend more money on CPU/RAM for 1080p 144hz gaming. If you want to play competitively, you're not going to play ultra or even high settings.
If you're on Ryzen platform, you might need a CPU that boost higher, or cooler that let it maintain the boost longer, and fast RAM which squeeze every high speed frame out as much as possible.
And I'll go for 2070S instead of 5700 XT.

Buy the RX 5700 and save RM 300? It's difficult to say if you'll be able to get a better PC with the extra RM 300 if you do not give us your system specs and overall budget.

5700xt on 1080 144 is not overkill ,better goes to 5700xt because 300 wouldn't give you the fps gap for any other parts you wanna swap.

The pc I’m currently building: Ryzen 5 3600 Asrock b450 steel legend 8gbx2 3200mhz cl16 256gb nvme ssd 1TB barracuda hdd 650w psu Acer 1080p 144hz freesync monitor My budget is around 4K ish?? But of course it’s better I could save more money hahaha

If I’m playing AAA titles I will most likely be playing in ultra but not on csgo Yea I’m on ryzen 5 3600 with cooler master hyper 212 black edition and 8gbx2 3200mhz cl16 But 2070s is more expensive though and I don’t really fancy ray tracing that much.

https://www.techpowerup.com/review/flashing...formance-guide/you may check this article, all information here is tested and verified. bottomline to cut it short, a fully modified RX 5700 will be 9-10% faster than stock RX 5700, is modding worth it? -for me "NO", The risk and effort and needed to achieve this is a lot. rx 5700 or rx 5700xt - for price ratio RX 5700 is much worth it , RX 5700xt is 15% pricier in general for 5-10% performance difference. see card list performance, you might consider getting the nvidia cards or older amd cards for now

That being the case, the RX5700 seems like the best option.

Could you please tell if you notice any difference on that 1080p and 144hz anyway no matter how hard do you put that much matter with all that much. I assumed that people usually do make all of this with something like 60hz or on 1440p, correct ?

Agree, even with the local pricing, the 5700XT isn’t that great of a value compared to the more expensive 2070S.
