Previously I didn't know what are the S1 & S3 powers setting in BIOS.
Now I have a brief idea of what it's about. Good guide smile.gif

Nice article!
I have a few suggestions and information which can be added:
1. A list of references would be nice.
2. Page 8. There seems to be a mistake in the quad core intel section. There is a single voltage plane yet you mention that the sites can have different voltages.
3. Also referring to pg 8. There are 3 main power planes on the barcelona IIRC (i don't have my reference papers on this laptop). One for all the cores, one for the northbridge and one for the I/O. The cores can adjust frequency independently of each other but not voltages (all 4 cores share the same voltage). Griffin is the one which can adjust the core voltages independently of each other, not Barcelona/K8L/K10.

1. Besides CPU P-state and C-state, they are all from the ACPI specs.

2. Yes I made a stupid mistake in the example although i mentioned both sites shared the same vcore, hahahaha.
3. Oh ic. Please share to me when u have the info, i really dunno much with current information. How abt the IMC in K10? It is sharing the same voltage plane as the NB? Can Griffin adjust the NB and IMC voltages like K10?

Thanks people for all your feedbacks smile.gif

The IMC is in the NB, so yes they share the same voltage plane. IIRC the L3 is also on the same plane as the NB. Griffin is a bit fancier, it can adjust the voltage of each core independently, as well as the NB.

yay, the article has been updated (barcelona pictar is still the old one tho), but i would prefer if any references to ikanayam were left out.
What i told you were not secrets tongue.gif
