Hi,

I need to start trimming my lawn. Previously I had the old lawn mower which is hovercraft style from Dyson. Like 1980s 1990s or so. Then moved house. Now the house has some patches of grass with tile walk pavement in between. Using a 4 wheel mower is ok, but there are some places where it physically does not fit. I also need to mow the the road sidewalk adjacent to my house gate since it also has grass. Yes, the area is under the Majlis Pembandaran, but they don't maintain it.

So which type of mower is good? Electric or Petrol and why?

it would be helpful to share photo areas you would like to trim, so we can advice accordingly. Lawn mower is only suitable for flat grass surface. I'm using electric from Bosch Rotak, zero maintenance, self suck the clippers, Light weight. Cons is, you can't cut when grass is wet. That's about it. For roadside, i think there will be a lot of stones, i wouldn't recommend you use a lawn mower, it'll damage your blade. You may consider the hand held type. Don't use these hand held type to cut your big lawn, result is uneven and requires a lot of skill, of coz Majlis bandaraya worker makes it look effortless. HAHA

I am currently using Husqvarna trimmer. After using a few times, it actually easy to use. It can use trimmer strings or blade ... inter changeable.

In my opinion, lawn mowers are no longer relevant in their use. They are very heavy and must be connected to the power grid. The lawn can be mowed much easier and more convenient with the help of weed trimmer equipment. These battery-powered wireless streamers work best. The charging time is enough to make a perfectly manicured lawn. As a bonus, there is also a 24-volt axial fan with variable speed. The 0.065-inch line lends itself to simple promotion, although it is at the lightest end of the cutting spectrum. The trimmer is very light compared to a lawn mower and can be held in one hand.

I have a Bosch easygrasscut 23 grass strimmer, electric operated. Good enough for my small lawn. Takes some learning to master it to avoid frequent line breakage.
