if im not wrong, dentist don't have MC to give, they can only give timeslip, which prove that time u are having dental services

they cannot prove u loss too much blood causing headache or what cz they are not doctor.. they only take care of your teeth

tldr: find doctor for mc
*
don't be stupid. dentist MC is just as valid as any GP MC.

yes they can't prove how much blood you lose but they can prove that you had an infected tooth and had to drill your jaw bone off, and stitch the gums back together making you unable to talk or eat properly for the next 24-48 hours.

Yes u are so smart..

Malaysia Employment Act 1955 60F said:
(1A) An employee shall also be entitled to paid sick leave under paragraphs (aa) and (bb) of subsection (1) after examination by a dental surgeon as defined in the Dental Act 1971

But if u read Dental Act 1971,

Section 12 talking about registration of Dental surgeon

Section 13 talking about registration of dentist

In whole of Employment Act you can only find dental surgeon, not the word dentist

So now we talking about mc issued by dentist or dental surgeon in this topic?

lol wanna act smart. but dentist & dental surgeon got any difference?

Any boss who reject dental MC probably never had to do a root canal from an infected molar before.

If the infection is bad, you can't fucking wait till a weekend to get it treated.
*
yes, can be considered an emergency dental treatment. even some insurance companies allow to claim

u go do normal fillings, teeth cleanings that type call dentist la, dental surgeon more specialist like jaw restructuring that type

so hard to differentiate? cannot google?

like that i go wash my teeth and take MC from dentist also can?  Unfit to work because teeth is too clean? lmfao
*
DLLM la. dentist = dental surgeon.

the specialist you referring about jaw recon is ORAL SURGEON @ ORAL & MAXILLOFACIAL SURGEON.

dentist aka dental surgeon can give MC for any procedures including but not limited to dental extractions, dental alveolar infections, periodontal surgery, root canal treatment.

clean teeth no MC la sohai.

go read Dental act section 13 before cakap banyak lol

the qualification to register as dental surgeon:
1) University of Malaya Ijazah Sarjana Muda Pembedahan Pergigian
2) Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.)(UKM)
3) Universiti Sains Malaysia Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) (USM)

where's ur source coming from? self acclaimed? cannot bother to understand law so want to stay in own world?
*
lol cakap banyak. even dentist holds bachelor of dental surgery la

Actually normal dentist and dental surgeon got difference one. Normal dentist I never seen do surgery for wisdom teeth removal. They always refer you to GH or other private specialists

So unless this auntie did her tooth extraction and some normal dentist (which I highly doubt), her MC should hold
*
we dentists have options to do or not do certain procedures if we feel we're not comfortable or confident with it. referrals for minor oral surgery is perfectly common especially among those who don't like to deal with too much blood and the risks involved (namely parasthesia @ nerve injury)

So means normal dentist in theory can do the surgical extraction? Ie no diff in the qualification?
*
Yes, that's correct!

try go check out your normal dentist's degree. It's probably Bachelor/Doctor of Dental Surgery (BDS/DDS), as our Malaysian system follows the system from UK by the College of Surgeons. in the US, they use DMD (Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry or Doctor of Dental Medicine).

the specialists who dentists/dental surgeons often refer to for Wisdom Tooth Extractions, Implant surgeries are Oral Surgeons or Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (OMFS). These surgeons have an extra qualification to cut open your face (below eye level, to the chin) for cancer or trauma cases. to name a few.

to cut it short

General dental pratitipner = dentist = dental surgeon = dental officer
Dental Surgery specialist = oral surgeon @ OMFS
