Currently running Morel Maximus component, an OEM 8inches underseat subwoofer. An audio shop recommended me to get Mdntoish M5S DSP for rm1800 total including wiring and tuning. Is the sound improvement significant? Btw, I'm using spotify pro as my source though AUX to my JVC single din.

Depend on which DSP you are going to invest, DSP alone or DSP + Amplifier.. To me DSP come with Class D amplifier like 100wrms x 6ch, 100wrms x 8ch or 100wrms x 8 + 200wrms x 2ch it worth to invest coz less wiring, space required & at least can reinnstall to future car (New Car) without hassle.. DSP alone (Alpine H700/701) you need more space & wiring for external amplifier so in the future when you change car maybe those equipment you couldn't install cause limited of space.. last end up in your store or force to sale at cheaper price..

for the budget, youu have a lot of choices for a dsp...and some even let you enjoy high quality bt sync thru your phone, so you do not need the JVC headunit to double process the source thru AUX

DSP usually were judge by feature and accuracy of tuning options. But at the end, minor differences will not be notice by user as it's greatly depend on how the tuner do the job.

Your installer / tuner will know better. get a trusted 1 will do.

Depends on your budget. If go for 2 way active may use 6 channel and 8 channel for 3 way system . You may pm me for more details , i have some stuff with good quality for sale

Since u have a decent budget, perhaps u can look for a DSP that supports FIR filters (convolver) also instead of just the common IIR filters (parametric eq, delay, peak filters only).

FIR filters can fix phase shift issues at your listening area caused by crossovers but need someone who knows how to do it

Or go for DSPs which support Dirac Live, its the best auto correction for consumer market and supports FIR filters. Available from miniDSP https://www.minidsp.com/products/car-audio-dsp/c-dsp-8x12

Only downside is it adds more latency to the signal chain as its a complex process typically used by pro audios (concert, studio, etc)

Question..
If I want to have 4 tweeters and 4 mid range with a 10" subwoofer spare tyre type, which type of dsp should I be getting? 4 Ch power amplifier with 8 channel dsp or 6 Ch amplifier with 8 channel dsp?

Do u plan to run active for your 2 ways (mid n tweeters)?
If yes, you'll need a 9 channel dsp cause u actually have 9 channels for each speakers so that each can be individually EQed, crossed n time aligned.

Else the x680 would do if u use passive crossovers for ur mids n tweets.

Likewise for ur amps.
