I would first advise you to go through your question again and see if you think there is any question at all.

Dont worry bro its happens in most of the occasion. first thing you should focus to expand your knowledge area and adopt diversification in your career, as you said you're designer fully time so can expand your skillset in terms of designing such as animator, voiceover, web design, app design, mascot designer and many more........

I don't know which type of designing skills currently have but keep in mind improvisation always keep intact.

Now, come to another point, if you want to do freelancing just go and check there're lots of online avenues like Fiverr, freelancer and upwork where you can do some freelance work and get handsome money depending on your skill set.

I hope this will work for you. nod.gif

Thanks Dear,
Have a nice learning day!

If you have a good income and you love your workplace just forget freelancing for now. Maybe do a few small ones for building network. Freelance works most of the time it's not worth the hassle.

Hi, you can explore on freelance jobs perhaps after your working hours or on weekends.

I used to work as a full-time designer as well. 7 years experience and now I'm a full-time freelancer.
The reason I switched was because I needed more time flexibility to explore other interests.

Freelance is very unstable unless you are signed to companies and under contracts. Along the way, you will get loose jobs here and there. I learned not to reject certain job opportunities simply because the price is not what your peers or the market expects. Sometimes it could be a way for you to network as well. And it had led me to some good paying jobs.

There are degrees of income when working as full-time freelancer. The low, medium, high paying jobs. Need to prioritise whichever suits your condition at the time and which to accept/reject.

I am not one of the fortunate ones that always land high paying jobs constantly, and never had their lows. Family financial background plays a big role too. Some of the design freelancers/sme owners that I know of came from an above average family (financially). The times that they struggle during the rainy days (no jobs coming in), is much different from the average person.

Aside from that, there are other things to manage as well. Like accounts, taxes, software licenses, plugins, etc.

I'm glad to be doing alright now.
Currently, I am pursuing my side interests like game and software/interactive development while working as freelancer.

To conclude, just pursue what makes you happy. I feel that I might not be entirely right on everything and how things work.
And please take any naysayers or advices with a bucket of salt. Most of it hides the actual reality. smile.gif

Best of luck. Peace~

i saw many of the design firms and renovation are doing more interior design work. There is also a new upcoming Landscaping Bill being debated in parliament. There may be new opportunities for even landscaping. Price war is a common thing in all industries. I suggest you gain some experience in a company that offers you good skillsets first
