Hi dear all!
Did anyone here ever apply to write thesis in English in UKM?
I am currently enrolled in master research programme and am really shocked to find out that students are required to submit their thesis in BM.
I heard that there is a possible way to get around it though - by having a foreign collaboration or foreign supervisor...
But the thing is my research does not involve any foreign collaboration...
Is there any other valid reason which can be used in the application?
Mind to share your experience?
Many thanks in advance!

There are multiple ways of writing your thesis in English. You just need a letter from either your superior (if you are working) or sponsor (if you have scholarship) or any letter in general that justify you to write in English.
If I am not mistaken postgrad in UKM are now no longer under IGS (I think it is called PPS in UKM), your faculty has the right to decide. Hence it is quite easy to get approved. I suppose just ask someone to write a letter (even your past employer or superior) should do. Talk to your graduate coordinator to find out more.
However, I don't think foreign external examiner will do as mentioned by others. A friend of mine used this excuse and in the end he would have to convert his thesis into Malay and got a local external examiner instead.
Hope this helps.
