How many types of metal roof available?

I read some articles and revews said metal roof is noise especially during heavy rain and heat absorption is another cons.

Anyone installed and mind to share your experience?

my friends house neighbor have it installed..

rust is biggest issues.. few years time sure GG one..

not sure about hot time. but raining time very noisy... every single drop of rain sure can hear one.. tap tap tap.. like that... also make sure not always people walk over the roof (for various reason - astro or aircon installation etc.) beacause over time, the metal would bend little... finally have holes / little broken...

Noisy when raining... sometimes sounds like thunder when there is a sudden heavy downpour. My zinc roof (cover backyard) lasted 20 years then had to change cz full of holes and leak.

The new type of metal roof have insulation behind. As thick as 2".

It help to reduce the heat transfer and sound proof.

The good of metal roof is,

1) the roof angle slope can be reduce if the depth not long enough for the roof drop.

2) water leaking.

Thanks enlighten, I saw there are many new housing project using metal roof and not sure what is the outcome.

3yrs ago my dad wan do some store roofing,he order from Lian Giap

roof is roughly 20x30ft,that time i help sign the d/o bcos i off day go help his company,price is roughly rm3.6k+ on the bill,cash n free delivery.

20ft long each piece very strong no bend.quite thick if compare to normal metal deck.

Heard from dad is much less heat n rain noise slightly reduce bout 20-30%.

How easy/difficult to install?
I am extending my DST at the back, but my roof is too sloppy, can only do RC roof, which I am scared of leaking in the future.

It is same as metal deck/zinc roofing sizes just like u c at factory roofing

come in long length piece,just material is aluminiums.way much better durable than metal deck/zink roof

One thing for sure the bangla will wtf to screw them bcos thickness lol,but quite safe as they step on it no kemek during installation,very tough.

U can contact Lian Giap ask for available color, design,size n thickness...they can cut for ur desire size each pieces,like u wan 10 pc 10ft long + 15pc 5ft long oso can via their machines cutting nicely.so tell ur contractors measure cun2 size needed.

You have to make sure the water proofing for the RC slab roof been done properly.

There are different roof profile to suit different roof slope. And the insulation can reduce the heat and noise from the metal roof also.

How long can a rc slab roof last vs concrete tiles ? What sort of maintenance is needed for rc slab ?

Still in clay roof. It's original roof like normal house.

I intend to change the roof and decide to use metal roof.

Most important is not leaking, heat insulate and noise.

Since the metal roof improve alot from the old generation and solve the 3 issue, should give a try.

The contractor said cheaper also. That I ask back 5yrs ago. Not sure now.
