Final thoughts
Could this be the new king of the beast from Korea? I certainly think so.

Loving the new remote Live View function from the Thinkware Cloud 2.0 Beta. This feature is coming to Q800 Pro in the next update.

The 4K image quality might not be one of the best but choosing Thinkware is more for their overall features than just image quality alone.

I missed the "Knight Rider" security LED from the F800 Pro & Q800 Pro.

Front 4k or front 60fps better?
*
A bit hard to explain.

To me, both 4K 30fps & 2K 60fps looks great.

But I'm sticking to 4K 30fps more. It's a personal preference laugh.gif

Which dash gives the best 4k in your experience?
*
The best 4K image is Viofo A129 Pro Duo with its maximum bitrate mode.

this dashcam allow you to track the car from anywhere using smartphone? Any sort of subscription need to pay monthly?
*
You'll need to get an internet wifi hotspot in the car for the U1000 to connect to the internet

It would be great if there is a sim card slot in the dash cam itself
*
Wait for Thinkware T700 as it has a 4G LTE sim card slot

currently, is there any dashcam that have a sim card slot for remote live monitoring?

Nope. Most are using the wifi hotspot to connect.

So that viofo better than U1000?
*
If compare directly image quality only - Viofo A129 Pro Duo win hands down.

If compare overall features - Thinkware U1000.

Viofo A129 Pro Duo's image quality is very fine-tuned and you can select bitrate settings. Cheaper alternative for true 4K and buffered parking mode.

Thinkware U1000's have the best parking mode in the market, accurate ADAS, Smart Camera Warnings, Remote Notification & Live View, Cloud 2.0 beta, etc.

I can say both are good 4K dashcams but will see which will suits your requirements more.

is this the best dashcam on the market ? is it worth it

I have been waiting since the announcement of ces 2019.
*
For all the features I mentioned above, to me yes it is worth it.

But to those who want only better image quality, not worth the price.

There are only 3 true 4K dashcams in the market. Thinkware U1000, Blackvue DR900S (read got a lot of overheat issue), and Viofo A129 Pro.

Now only I realized this U1000 did warn about oncoming AES on PLUS highway.

Human voice alert when around 700 meters and 300 meters away from the AES location. Not bad.

QUOTE(Zaryl @ Sep 7 2020, 10:50 PM)
If using parking mode via the hardwire kit, will the 12v car battery be drained quicker than usual?

I mean, average 12v battery life would be 1yr to 1.5yrs.
But having this parking mode will definitely drain more right?

And can we use the parking mode on Certain times?
Or it can only be used all the time whenever we switched off car engine?
*
I've been using U1000 since the release in Malaysia. Before that was the F800 Pro.

My car been using the same Amaron Hi-Life NS60 for about 3 years now after changing the battery that came from Honda factory.

Thinkware dashcam has a voltage cutoff which I've set to 12v and also a timer in which the parking mode will turn itself off after the set time. Mine is set for 48 hours.

Here is the settings for the parking mode.
user posted image

There is an option to turn off the parking mode during the winter.

The parking mode will always turn on after the engine is off. Unless you manually off the Thinkware before you off the engine then the parking mode won't turn on.

hi TS,
hardwiring the dashcam will void warranty not? interest to install on my new car
*
Technically won't void the warranty as there are any wires cut.

But car manufacturers will say anything not factory-installed will be voided.

i see, ya more like plug and play with fuse adaptor

but still carry the risk of void warranty...  doh.gif
*
Actually, fuse taps just plug into the fuse to piggyback only.

But in the end, it will depend on the service center manager. I heard some very bad will report any minor mods done to the car even when nothing is wrong.
