Malaysians working overseas are quite common. About one-third of my high school graduating class of 28 are working elsewhere.

1 is an actuary in the UK now
1 is a project manager who has moved around a lot over his career - US, UK, and now Dubai. We joke that he's definitely taking his time to come back to Malaysia
1 is a biotechnology consultant based in California
1 is a marketing manager who lives and works in California
1 is a corporate lawyer who worked in Germany and is now in London
1 is an academic (physics) who worked in the US for a while.. we've lost touch so not sure where he is now
1 is an accountant who settled down in Australia as soon as she graduated
1 is a doctor who graduated from Australia, married there, and works there
1 is an entrepreneur who moves around a lot, set up a company in Australia, and is probably coming back because he sold out his position

Then there's me who spent 6 years in Europe, and I came back to Malaysia providing freelance services to European companies...

it's a blessing that your parents objected
now the casino industry in Sihanoukville is facing cash flow hard time and many has closed / owner absconded, after Cambodian PM announced ban on online gambling back in Aug-2019 and no longer issue online gambling license / permit for 2020

I cried so hard back then.
Cus I initially planned to just work short term and thinking it would be looking great on my CV,
so that I'd be easy to jump anywhere (out of MY).

anyhow, right now life's is good, So, this is the best for now smile.gif

Latest was 5 years in pharmaceutical research in the UK.

Don’t buy into the myth that Asians can’t get professional jobs in angmoh countries.

That was one of the reason.

Maybe ayam too old for big city living also, go there jam go here jam, parking hard to find although it is easier to park in Bangkok, just remember to put your gear in N and do not apply parking brake.

There is some part of the city i miss now.
