Kante seems to have some performance issues too tho. Keeping on misplacing simple passes

No wonder Lamps wants to change the most expensive GK in the world. He already sees how shitty Kepa is from the start
Kinda understood what Lampard did with the subs. Imo, he took Kova and Kante out and sub Barkley and Mount in to give more firepower from the midfield (as both Kova and Jorgi plays the pivot role, and Kante is just getting worse each game. This time, the famous Gerrard slip And I applaud Lamps for his tactical change to 2 strikers up front. It did show that he was looking for that winning goal very seriously. Defending-wise, I can see that Rudiger seemed a bit rusty. Wouldn’t say the same for Christensen but i guess Andreas has other issue related to experience, similar to Zouma. Can’t see our defend getting any better anytime soon with Tomori out with the injury. Same goes to the keeper, I actually do prefer Willy over Kepa now. Such an overrated expensive gk, he really showed that in the match today. Lamps, do what you need to do. Kill off those stubborn deadlinks |

In this game, it can be seen in the first half that the team is quite confident in ball-playing, even though the number of shots are lacking.
However the confidence level somehow dropped (i guess?) in the second half, where HC took most possession while we defend like crazy until Tomori help to give us bit of a cushion For the goals conceded, imo it was a weird mistake from Kova when he turned his body while jumping during HC’s freekick being taken, causing a deflection sufficient enough to confuse Willy. Few points to note, Alonso was somewhat good in this game. Good up until the point he gave away the freekick that lead to HC’s goal. Pedro on the other hand was just plain bad (except for his pace. Dude got stamina yo). Guess his time is finally up. CHO performed like the old days. Except maybe he needs to practice his finishing touches. With a little bit more practicing and experiences gained, he could be our own ‘Sancho’ imo. All in all, it can be said that the team still struggle in killing games off. Lamps might need to instil this to the team, i.e. try to kill the game in the first half lol Anyway, just enjoy the win. Hopefully it boosts the team morale to face tougher fixtures ahead. For now, we advance to the next round of the FA cup! This post has been edited by fzrnhkm: Jan 26 2020, 04:05 AM |

Guess the board prefer to wait until the next window to make signings. Can see the reason imo, it’s better to make prolific signings (Sancho, Chilwel) rather than go for short term solutions (Mertens, Cavani).
But seriously though, with current injuries in the team, the board is gambling quite a risk in this window. Falling out of top 4 and them prolific signings wouldn’t even look at us i guess |
