Hi, need some help regarding Instarem transfer to IBKR, as IBKR recently closed their support channel for non user.
I already had my account verified, and now trying to transfer the fund in. My plan now is transfer GBP from Instarem to IBKR. However IBKR required me to fill up a deposit form which consists of info I only can get after initiate a transfer in Instarem. But at Instarem, before I can initiate transfer, I need to key in bank details which I only can get after submit the deposit form. I am confuse now.
Any people that had go through this process can give some advice on how to proceed?
Much appreciated.

QUOTE(Ziet Inv @ Nov 9 2020, 11:47 PM) The exact steps I took after having my CIMB SG account (linked and activated). 1. IBKR - Go to Bank Wire. You should be able to see details to Wire Funds to Citibank NA, Singapore (With bank account title Interactive Brokers LLC). 2. CIMB SG - Initiate transfer (SGD to SGD) to the Citibank above, should be FREE. Took 15 minutes for me to see the fund inside IBKR account (in SGD). 3. IBKR Account - Convert Currency from SGD to USD at market price, should be at spot rate + USD 2 commission. You will see USD amount in your portfolio very swiftly. Hi, I came across your blog post, but when I browse the CIMB SG site, I found out that they had added some requirements like need to have working visa or working permit at Singapore. Is that how it is always so? I don't have any of that permit, do you have any advise for me to create a SG account with them? Thanks!

QUOTE(Medufsaid @ Jul 22 2025, 09:22 AM) kucingfight for Wise, i recommend you manually convert MYR->EUR in Wise (forgot the fee). and then send the EUR to IBKR (FOC). you'll save the USD1.13 if you are on cash account (not margin), IBKR will auto convert to USD for a fee of 0.03% when you buy. else use Recurring to buy stocks, then IBKR will auto convert for free to USD If you are depositing in EUR, you will still need to convert to USD in IBKR?

Curious if anyone did a comparison before on which funding method below is more cost effective (based on the final received USD amount). Assuming funding amount is like RM20k.
#1. - Local bank -> Sunway Money (MYR -> MYR) - Sunway Money -> CIMB SG (MYR -> SGD) - CIMB SG -> IBKR (SGD -> SGD) - IBKR internal exchange (SGD -> USD)
#2. - Local bank -> Wise (MYR -> MYR) - Wise -> IBKR (MYR -> USD)
