QUOTE(Ramjade @ May 1 2022, 02:19 PM) You need to fund your interactive broker or it will never get approve. :PYou should be able to login and get account number to fund it. I prefer to get approved then funding it, than funding it, then waiting to be approved Its kinda make me feel that my money is taken hostage. Not only me, a few peoples at reddit/interactivebrokers also have the same opinion as me, and have voiced their concerns. i dont want to feel like my money is being taken hostage. if i fund it first, then it get rejected, then i must wait for them using their own sweet time to refund back... god knows how long the refund process will be....

guys, i got a enquiry. can a CASH account sell cash covered put option? can a CASH account sell covered call option? the reason is because i got a reply from interactive brokers. i did informed that i need option trading capabilities. here is an quote from the email that i received QUOTE Please advise if you would like to continue with opening a Cash account with Stocks trading capabilities. the reason i ask here because: 1. they didnt state anything about options 2. i am worried about their restriction on selling options (whether cash account can sell cash covered put option and sell covered call option?) 3. their reply is slow

QUOTE(Ramjade @ May 5 2022, 01:45 AM) Yes. But you need the cash required to pay for 100 shares as collateral and it will be frozen until the options expired worthless or you buy back to close. Not sure if you can get use cash as collateral for covered calls. The idea of covered call is you have 100 shares to back it up. i apprentice your advice. by the way, your signature's quote is very enlightening....

QUOTE(TOS @ Nov 8 2023, 11:07 AM) Do the maths: 20/3000*100% = about 0.7% which is of typical Wise fee level now. It used to be 40 basis points (0.4%) years back. The recommended way is to use Moneymatch transfer in one lump sump (after you save some 10-50k MYR) to your SG bank account, then transfer to IBKR so that the fees can be as low as 40 basis points. Of course if you value convenience then Wise's 70 basis points is the way to go. You trade convenience for a lower price and vice versa. No free lunch. I am using WISE because i am comfortable to know that the transaction is instant for Moneymatch, how fast is the transaction speed?

QUOTE(TOS @ Jul 23 2024, 09:13 PM) Yep, just submit your bank documents, EPF and ASNB account statements together with other proof of wealth that you have. Explain to them what EPF and ASNB are since they may not be familiar with Malaysia's pension system and the "unique" fixed price unit trusts. my experience. i submitted my epf and asw statement, and they rejected me
