hello everyone, newbie here.

I have an IBKR account. I usually deposit USD using Wise after i convert them from myr.

My question is, let's say i wan to trade sg stocks, can i deposit sgd into IBKR and trade using sgd?

Or do I need to deposit USD as usual, and upon trading sg stocks, IB will auto convert USD to sgd?

thankssss

The fund deposit page has a list of currencies you can deposit, with the corresponding method to deposit said currency.

Trading can only be done if you have the appropriate currency to purchase that particular stock, e.g. have SGD in account to buy SGX stocks.

Yes you can deposit SGD directly - you'll need to change your account currency to SGD first, then deposit notification will be in SGD with the correct transfer instruction into IBKR's Singaporean account.

Thanks seniors for the reply. I have just changed the base currency and right now it is showing sgd. I have both usd and sgd in my wise acc. Although i can fund my IB in sgd, but it will autoconvert the currency. I can choose either usd, gbp or eur. No sgd.

My next question is, do I need to keep changing the base currency whenever i want to deposit usd or sgd intermittently?

thanksssss
