newbie here, does ibkr impose any fee for SG and HK stock dividend disbursement? I am using Hlebroking and it is changing me sgd8 for each dividend disbursement.

QUOTE(TOS @ Sep 26 2024, 09:59 AM) Uhmm not sure what you mean by trust account. trust account is a account that we bank in our fund bank into a brokerage to buy stock and brokerage transfer dividend into that accountIBKR handles your money in the following way: https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/gener...al-strength.php You can check the "How We Handle Client Assets" sections. |

QUOTE(dwRK @ Sep 27 2024, 09:41 AM) he just wanna know if the div is kept in a trust acc... imho... its moot, as you send them $$$$ to buy stocks and they manage it via custodian acc, no reason $ from div needed to be managed via trust acc... QUOTE(TOS @ Sep 27 2024, 09:45 AM) Yea, the cash dividends are in the form of cash, deposited in custodial accounts at banks or US T-bills. So, no "trust" account involved. for all local brokerage for bursa, it is called trust account, don't you guys have it also? |

can my new application be approve without having putting any fund into my own account 1st? Ibkr claimed "We review funded account applications first.
If for any reason your application does not get approved, we will send your money back." |

QUOTE(Medufsaid @ Sep 28 2024, 10:25 AM) yes it can be approved. but you will receive annoying email reminders to fund (else they'll close the acct, u can google how long before it gets closed) I search high and low, there is no mention of the minimum that we have to fund our ibkr account![]() fastest is to link your Wise acct to IBKR, then fund

Ibkr support really hopeless, tried online chat, forced to wait almost forever, resort to files a case, take 2 days to answer, only to know that it is irrelevant.
Anybody knows Ibkr normal practice, is there a limit to the usd1 Ibkr shares that we can get by depositing in this campaign below, clicking on the TnC bring me to Refer A friend which is irrelevant like what the support gave: If you fund your account in the next 30 days, you will be eligible for our Welcome Shares program, where you earn USD 1 in IBKR shares for each USD 100 in assets you deposit during the 12 months following your initial deposit. Please refer to our Welcome Shares Terms and Conditions for full details. This post has been edited by gedebe: Oct 31 2025, 07:27 PM |

QUOTE(Hastebreak @ Nov 1 2025, 10:54 PM) Do not take my word on this and do your own research... but Interactive Brokers (IBKR) is one of the best brokerage platforms I have used thus far... but their support is hopeless compare to Moo2 which is a new entranceI am very happy about IBKR. They are a big brokerage firm with plenty of liquidity for most of the U.S counters I have eyed for in swing trading... |

QUOTE(Hastebreak @ Nov 7 2025, 11:54 AM) MooMoo is popular for mainstream stocks... You will certainly be filled trading / investing in popular ones... But it's a small brokerage firm that cannot compare to the deep liquidity access and partners who are willing to fill your positions which Interactive Brokers have... Meaning that Moo2 has more possibilities of failing to fulfill our trade? To me, I make money... I exit positions... I fund it back out into WISE, and into my bank... No qualms, no issues, whatsoever... Again, it's just my very own perspective... |
