Hi all,

I would like to open and did some reading but i might asking same question as other cause i get confuse.
I try to list down my understanding and please let me know if i am wrong.

1.I had created CIMB SG (our main function for oversea or SG bank is to receive fund from IBKR if we want to quit and withdraw)
2. There is 3 option in first page, which i interested is 1 and 2. We need to get white label to avoid the inactivity fees but with higher in commission. I assume white label = TSG ? Once register TSG, we can log in to all IKBR ? Will we able to see live quote when trading?
3. Deposit to IKBR best option is MYR > IKBR via bigpay? (not workable?) or this is the only workable option which is MY bank>SG bank > SG bank top up to Bigpay and bigpay transfer to IKBR (to save transaction fees as using SG bank to IKBR i assume higher charges?)

I am new, and want to do testing in US market, maybe i just try 1k USD. Please let me know the best option suggested.

Thank you

1. not to receive but to fund too, thou ones here tested can straight fund IBKR SG with Instarem SGD, but who know this might be closed in the future, it is good to have SG Bank account also so to park your SGD for other investment opportunity through FSM SG etc.

2. Correct. There are other whitelabel for IBKR, but most of us go for TSG. Yes you can login to IBKR using ur TSG acocunt, it is IBKR account anyway, just that the pricing is following your introducing broker which is TSG. No live quote unless you subscribe to it. Check the live price through elsewhere e.g. investing.com or cnbc.

3. IBKR doesn't accept funding through MYR. You can do:

(A) Bigpay/Instarem/Transferwise (just whichever rate is best when you transfer) SGD to IBKR SG Citibank, you will ge the funding instruction and IBKR SG citibank account info when you initiate funding in IBKR client portal.

(B) Or you can do the former way, just that with one more layer, which is BigPay (etc.) to SG bank, then SG bank to IBKR. I do this since safer and more secured in personal opinion.

There is no straight funding through Bigpay MYR to IBKR. And, funding through SG bank to IBKR doesn't involve any fee.
*
Thanks for the answer.
For the 2nd question, meaning either the people direct register ibkr or we go through whitelabel tsg we purchase in delayed quote ?which website is the best for live if trade US market?

Abit messy if we see live from other and order from ibkr?
I thought ibkr like Malaysia rakuten, mplus, Itrade cimb etc which provide live quote.

Both TSG and IBKR also need to purchase live data. Ibkr is kinda like a low cost broker, dirt cheap commisions and margin but everything else is alacarte.

If you're unsure which to get, check what stock you going to buy. If it's just ETF like SPY can subscribe to ARCA data 1.50/month or if you want everything its 4.50/month +options(OPRA) 1.5/month
*
i see, without live data it will be delay? normally you guys all buy live data? or which platform is user friendly?
I play to trade shares for US / SG

Hi Guys, finally i able to get CIMB SG account ready within 3 day. Quite fast and easy.

Now i wanted to register IBKR via TSG to avoid monthly fees.
I went to TSG website and create account, basically input some information without upload ID etc.
Once it done, i saw my email received 2 message.
One is from IB asking me to verify, once i click i will went to their website with alot of stuff need to fill (should i start here? how will i know i will register from TSG or direct ibkr?)
2nd email is from TSG written like welcome, but do not have any link or status.
" Thank you for choosing to open an Interactive Brokers account powered by TradeStation! One of our representatives will be in touch with you shortly to help you complete the account opening process and to answer any questions you may have."

so is there anyone will contact me later? Or i just proceed click the 1st email from IB to register directly?

As long as you register using TSG website and redirected to IBKR, it should be fine. Just follow the instructions.
TSG is setting up their own support/message center I guess.
This means if you're under TSG you deal directly with TSG for account related stuff.
I'm guessing it's because IBKR is too busy to deal with too many messages.
*
i click new application then it redirect to https://gdcdyn.interactivebrokers.com/Unive...orce_w2l_lead_2

Then after register it said continue with my email.
Those upload doc is upload to ibkr?

I received 2 email, and today TSG called me from UK but the people not professional i was doubting a scam call.
TSG : ask me if i registered?
Me: i not sure, i filled the form and i received email, should i fill up the ibkr email or wait TSG instruction? what is next step?
TSG : Did you receive email,
ME : the email from ibkr or from tsg? i received tsg but no instruction.
TSG : i will send you another email, thanks

Then she said will resend me... i received below
QUOTE
"Thank you for your interest in TradeStation!

you can email me any questions you may have.

If you would like to start the account opening process and have not created log ins at InteractiveBrokers yet you can initiate this here:

https://www.tradestation-international.com/...NZTq=5010"

Now i assume need to fill up from the email ibkr sent which about account login verification

basically u sign up through TSG.. from here, it will re-direct u to sign up at IBKR (which is the part where u'll need to provide the most of ur details and information).. once done, u will be require to submit ur ID and documentation.. after approval, the final step will require u to fund the account in order to unlock the trading restriction

kindly note that all these while u're only dealing with IBKR, not TSG.. as long as u start ur sign up at TSG in the first place and follow their link to IBKR, u should be fine (and classified as a referral from TSG to IBKR)

u will only receive TSG's login credential (username and password) through email after everything at IBKR side is completed.. by then u can decide whether to use TSG or IBKR platform for ur investment.. different rate and commission though
*
Hi Jas, i done with the link.

Then i received email to verify my acc, i go in and fill up all the option such as income, which market i want to trade, network, base currency etc.
Then it goes back on my previous post which is confirm mobile number, and funding.

The request to submit ID and documentation come from where? i didnt saw option for me to upload or send this. Is from email or will from website?
The funding is from website as well right? i dint click it through.. meaning i wait it approve only i fund right?

"u will only receive TSG's login credential (username and password) through email after everything at IBKR side is completed.. by then u can decide whether to use TSG or IBKR platform for ur investment.. different rate and commission though"
majority of here register and use ibkr right? for lower rate, TSG just reg for avoid no trade?

*

Maybe i missed it infront for the upload version.
I wonder should i click cancel application and if i able to register again.. or i just wait for them to contact.

noticed u had verify ur mobile number..

how about ur proof of address? it should be on the same page.. if i recall correctly the upload of ID should be on the same page as well.. did u try to scroll down?

in any case, try not to cancel the application.. try to instead get support from TSG regarding ur issues.. email, phone call, etc
*
nope that is the entire page, i dont have ID and other page. Maybe i missed if the page is infront.
I didnt cancel, and sent email so far no respond yet.

TSG send an email ask me to do funding but my ibkr not yet approved, so maybe i should wait they approve it only i fund?

Hi I just opened an IBKR account, and made my first SGD funds transfer through Transferwise. I just thought of something. How does Interactive Brokers know that the funds received from Transferwise is for my IBKR account?

When using Transferwise, I only needed to key in IBKR account number and bank name as transfer details. It didn't ask me to key in the any identifying number that would route the funds to my IBKR account ie. payment reference etc.

Any thoughts?
*
Do we have min amount to send? they approved only you transfer?

QUOTE(jas029 @ Aug 30 2020, 09:58 PM)
if u had received email from TSG requesting u to fund the acc, its a good indication that ur IBKR acc has already been set-up.. try to login to ur IBKR acc using the username and password u'd created.. if u're able to login, then its quite obvious the acc has been created.. u just need to fund it and u're ready to go (but please make sure first the IBKR acc has been created and u're able to login)..

as im typing, i suddenly recall the submission of ID might be required after ur login to IBKR.. not before as we'd previously mentioned.. i hope i didnt recall wrongly.. and hope that helps
*
I saw TSG email ask me fund it.
I login IBKR and seems my account is done.

But till today i never submit my ID and they never ask.
Currently i am on this page, am i doing the right thing? should i worried on the ID submission as they nvr ask from me.

So now i need to fund it with SG CIMB ?
The sending institution should i input CIMB Bank Singapore?
The account is my CIMB SG acc number?
The account nickname will auto change once i input the sending institution. Should i change anything?

ur ID should have been requested by TSG during account opening process, for my case there is no ID being asked no more once account is created, able to login to IBKR and ready to fund.

yes can fund it with SG CIMB
sending institution can put: CIMB Bank Berhad Singapore
account number is to put in your CIMB SG acc number, correct.
account nickname up to you to change, it is just for your own reference.

remember to put your TSG/IBKR account number at "reference" / "message" when you creating FAST transfer to IBKR SG at CIMB SG portal
*
Thanks, i think CIMB sg full name is CIMB Bank Berhad without "singapore"

QUOTE(jas029 @ Sep 3 2020, 09:52 PM)
congrats on getting the ibkr account done.. since they didnt ask for the ID, then so be it.. not as if u purposely submitted a false personal info beforehand i assume?

and yes, feel free to fund ur ibkr account now that it'd been set-up.. sending institution is cimb sg (please input full official bank name) if u're funding it through there.. account number is ur cimb sg account number.. nickname i put my full name (as per both bank and ibkr account)
*
yes, i just worried the data or information is not there and if the account messed. thanks for the input

QUOTE(lamode @ Sep 3 2020, 10:49 PM)
i was going to say this, but u replied before me.
if you are not in a rush to use the account, try make a small deposit and withdrawal first.

happened to me with other broker that no issue with deposit n trading for abt a year, when it comes to first withdrawal request, back and forth for a while, but eventually got the funds la.
*
TSG told me min is 1k usd, meaning i put in 1k usd and withdraw? then deposit again if the withdrawal sucessful?

QUOTE(jutamind @ Sep 4 2020, 02:55 PM)
this was what i see after submitting the application. no button to upload docs but just the email section....see screen shot below

actually i've tried to tag u regarding this and not sure u've received it..

but feel free to check back to post #2015.. there's actually an option to navigate for ID submission.. at the aforementioned page, click on 'Email, Fax, or Mail' and then 'Fax/Mail Sending Instructions'

highly advisable for u to submit though.. like our experience bro and sis here mentioned, u dont want to run into hiccup when u eventually decided to withdraw
*
ya i saw the post you tag me, by going this thread. But the answer is as jutamind, once you click submit it will direct you to login page and have nothing to submit.

Withdraw for what? TSG charges you money if your account falls below <$1,000

IIRC, you need to look at the NLV. As long as it's above $1,000 then ok.

withdraw test to avoid issue in later stage. the cut off for this <1000 is every month end?

Not sure how they calculate.
Most likely it's prorated. Meaning your average balance for that month must be above that amount.
They charge <RM10 only. No biggie if you plan to test out.
*
charge less than rm10 monthly? meaning less than 2.5 usd? My friend jz realize they get charged by ibkr like over 100plus USD bcz of their balance below 200k usd.

Btw, how you guys maintain the SG CIMB? if i leave it SGD50 will they close my acc? I already send in more than 1k SGD as first transfer, i can straight take out right?
If no transaction will it become dormant ? like bank in malaysia some 6 month no transaction become dormant some 1 year.

IBKR each month 1 time free withdrawal follow calendar date right? then each withdrawal 15sgd. i read from withdrawal page.

TSG is the one who charges around $2 if your balance falls below $1000. Not sure about IBKR. Your friend subscribe to data?

TSG charge us 2USD and IBKR might charge us as well? haha..

My friend is some earlier member i think they already in ibkr like 2 years maybe, i heard they recently check only realize maybe due to inactive or something, usd 10 per month. in other word they are couple which 1 active and 1 more not active, recently the not active hear we always talk and decided to check the acc, then realize kena charge 10 usd per month since the last login. they direct ibkr without going white label etc as i ask them about broker or tradestation they not aware on it..

hi guys, wanna clarify something..
friend of mine who use ibkr directly he subscribe live data 10usd per month, so he no need pay any monthly fees as the monthly fees will get charges if he trade commission is lower than 10usd. is kinda good bypass as well rite? haha

Yep it would be delayed data, iirc 15 minutes. I plan to trade options so maybe I'll just subscribe to OPRA data 1.5/month. Stock live data I use tradingview since I do charting there anyways. If you want to save money suggest you do the same as it won't be much diff unless you're day trading alot then just go for their data.
*
hi bro, opra is sufficient of option trade rite? haha.. stock live i use level2stock/investing so i just need to know for option live as i dont think i able to find the information easily.

Depends on your trading style.. For me OPRA is enough (Live stream of bid/ask/bid&ask size/volume), $1.5/month

If you need depth of book then go for L2 option feeds but they can get rather expensive if you're subscribing to all the exchanges. I'm not a daytrader so I don't find it useful.
They basically give the same data for OPRA, but for different prices. Let's say current bid/ask for option A is 1.00/1.01. OPRA gives you data for those prices but L2 feeds give you additional data for 0.99,0.98,0.97..... and 1.02,1.03,1.04...

You can find free live stock data easily from other sources online but option prices, just go for the subscription. PM me if you need help with which data package to sub as IBKR makes it really confusing for common investor
*
yes agree,. I saw below as well..
NYSE (Network A/CTA)
Real time market data for NYSE listed stocks. Provides top of book bid/ask/last quotes. Examples - CYS, TEL and LLY.

NYSE American, BATS, ARCA, IEX, and Regional Exchanges (Network B) This kinda confuse actually, i thought normally we trade US is either Nasdaq for tech normally or NYSE for other.
Provides real-time quotes for stocks listed outside of NYSE and NASDAQ. Exchange listings include (but not limited to) those on NYSE American (formerly known as AMEX), ARCA, BATS, and IEX. Examples include IBKR, SPY, and VXX.

NASDAQ (Network C/UTP)
Provides real-time data bid/ask (top of book) quotes for NASDAQ listed securities. Examples - MSFT, CSCO and TSLA.

OPRA (US Options Exchanges)
Provides option data from AMEX, ARCA, BATS, BOX, BSE, CBOE2, CBOE, ISE NASDAQ AND PHLX.
I just wonder lets say my acc commission for this month over 20usd 1jan to 24jan. if i subscribe this on 25 jan, will they waive it or they will calculate my commission from 25-31jan must hit 20usd

yes u're right.. only set up in ibkr.. u'll need to provide the TW bank details into it

even deposit and withdrawal are also initiated in ibkr.. just maintain sufficient USD balance in ur TW account to do ur transactions.. eg. initiate a deposit in ibkr, it'll auto deduct from ur TW account.. obviously initiating a withdrawal in ibkr will transfer the fund to ur TW account
*
normally you put in usd and transfer to TW? sorry for outtopic, do TW easily to reg an USD acc? currently i use ib convert back to sgd n transfer to sg bank lol
