How do i transfer funds from IBKR LLC to Maybank Malaysia? I tried to trasnfer USD but IBKR had a pop up stating i need a Correspondence Bank. I called maybank and it said just provide the SWIFT code which i did but IBKR said this was insufficient.

QUOTE(Medufsaid @ Oct 9 2023, 05:17 PM) cybermaster98 if withdrawing via SGD->CIMB SG->CIMB MY isn't possible, are you able to withdraw USD via Wise? then convert to RM, and topup to ewallet (TNG or BigPay). BigPay very lax when it comes to DuitNow to local bank accounts, TNG ewallet might be stricter (or not. since this isn't credit card funds) Why?i will strongly discourage transfer as you've shown |

has anybody done a fund transfer from IBKR LCC (US) to Maybank Malaysia? IBKR said the Maybank SWIFT code is insufficient. They need a correspondence bank for Maybank in order to make the trasnfer. Maybank cant resolve this issue for me hence im asking here.

QUOTE(TOS @ Oct 16 2023, 11:59 AM) You mean you phoned Maybank HK in KL and they still can't tell you who is their correspondent bank? Phoned Maybank home branch in KL and they couldnt answer. But from the link you posted, it seems that the ABA Number: 026001287 is Maybank intermediary bank. Anybody used this?I found this old info by the way: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4429618/all not sure if it is helpful. |

QUOTE(CharmaineLee80 @ Oct 19 2023, 03:17 PM) I just submitted. Yes IBKR does not ask for these. And they normally approve new account opening within 2 hours not 1-3 days. But thing is, it does not ask me for 1. A Photo ID To verify 2. Document to Verify So, i wonder if i was missing something... |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Oct 23 2023, 10:10 AM) I said many times in many places. If you want highest return, go with QQQ. Their return have always been more than S&P500 butord volatile. If you cannot stand volatility, then stick with S&P500. Ireland version of QQQ Why not MGK if you want to be more tech heavy? 58% portfolio in Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, Nvidia, Tesla, Meta and Netflix. Performance wise almost the same but annual expense ratio only 0.07% vs 0.20% for QQQhttps://www.reddit.com/r/singaporefi/commen...lent/?rdt=63973 US etf if you want to do options. Ireland version if you don't want options and save 15% on dividend tax. CSPX (non fractional shares) or VUAA (lower price and support fractional shares) Once you get 100 shares in US, you can easily do options to get back your 30% tax and more. Not everyone wants to do options. |

QUOTE(xander2k8 @ Oct 23 2023, 02:31 PM) MGK is too mag7 heavy 🤦♀️ while buy mag 7 directly will give better returns in the long term MGK also consists of various tech sectors. Both have very similar holdings but MGK has a higher weightage of the Magnificent 7 stocks (58% vs 49% for QQQ). Qqq is different because of different tech sectors inclusive entire ecosystem MGK is for those who want to have a bigger holding of the Magnificent 7 megacap tech stocks but want to keep things simple and not be buying 7 individual stocks separately. For me personally, i buy these stocks individually. This post has been edited by cybermaster98: Oct 23 2023, 03:42 PM |

QUOTE(Paradigmata @ Nov 15 2023, 07:50 AM) Bro, thanks for ur suggestion Dont waste your time with that. Its not that easy to earn. And your main purpose is to invest in stocks and get a much higher longer term return. Dont chase after peanuts. For the cash on hand, how to get the interest? I still unclear bro. I always read some banner got x% keeping the cash. |

QUOTE(sp3d2 @ Feb 13 2024, 04:43 PM) guys. sorry if out of topic. How do you transfer from USD in IBKR to a Malaysian bank account?i did comparison, if i transfer RM 30,000 using wise vs moneymatch, i can save RM 115.15 of fees by using moneymatch. wise is by directly RM to USD in IBKR Moneymatch is by RM to SGD CIMB Singapore, then to SGD in IBKR, then convert to USD in IBKR. thanks to the users here that mentioned on Moneymatch. Good bye Wise you are too greed. |

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Feb 14 2024, 03:20 PM) There are various accounting methods to handle that, but those are your concern not the broker concern. Broker sees you have X number of units, after sell you have X-Y. Not correct. In IBKR you can select the order of sale either on the First In First Out (FIFO) or Last In First Out (LIFO) basis. So i managed to resolve my issue. Chose LIFO. |

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Feb 15 2024, 11:12 PM) Those are reporting (normally for tax reasons) decisions. What material impact does it have on us as Malaysians investing in overseas market? The broker is reporting the same data to you in two 'formats', but since we are not taxed locally for capital gains (nor can we claim for any losses incurred) this is pretty much just preference. Not bothered about tax. Ive been building up positions in all my Big Tech stocks since 2018. So obviously i want the shares purchased earlier to continue to run but cash out of some of the latest purchased ones as im not happy with some of my latest entry points. Hence why i want LIFO instead of FIFO |
