I have my IB account open and have opened a request to wire funds. However I'm a bit confused on which platform to purchase the ETFs.

Can I buy them from the IB portal through the IB portal? Just click the 'Trade' button and make a buy order?

Does that mean it goes through Tradestation?

What is the best option to withdraw funds from IBKR? I have read using Transferwise back to local bank account is one way?

I'll be using Euro as my ibkr currency.

Why you should get Transferwise?

Transferwise is a Fintech (financial technology) company that offers cheap cross-border money transfer, like InstaRem, MoneyMatch, Revolut etc. In addition to highly competitive exchange rates (at the moment, it has the best rate among these fintech companies), ITS MAIN SELLING POINT is that, it provides you with virtual bank account details - they call it the Borderless account.

With Borderless accounts, you have your own bank account details for USD, GBP, EUR, AUD, PLN, SGD and NZD. You can use these account details to accept payment from third parties. For example, I can give my GBP account details to someone in the UK to pay me in GBP, or my SGD account details to someone in SG to pay me in SGD.

To sign up for TW: FREE (you can PM me for a referral code)

I can assure you, TW offers very competitive rates.
At the point of writing, €1,000 gives RM 4774.65.
versus InstaRem, €1,000 gives 4763.94.
What about banks?? Hmm, I'm not sure but .... good luck!  laugh.gif
Debit mastercard: FREE (only for those residing overseas). Perfect for when you're travelling abroad!

However, TW Borderless account is not available at the moment for Malaysia? I just checked and its still not available. I guess whoever who opened their TW Borderless account before they removed it can still use it.

Probably some rules that I missed but perhaps anyone can shed light on this.

Currently I have 470 EUR cash balance. But I am only able to purchase 370 worth of ETFs. Trying to buy 470 worth gives an error that I need 576 in cash. Does that mean IBKR enforces a minimum cash balance OR have a margin on top of the amount of stock being purchased?

Was doing a BUY limit order.

No, I don't think so.

Do you have other active orders? Or orders that you've cancelled but still pending?
Did you transfer money / exchange currency in recently? Did you sell your stocks recently?
Have you included the commission into your estimation?

Ah I found out why. Was choosing to use EUR amount instead of buying specific amount of units of ETFs. It probably needed a margin of cash to ensure the Buy order would go through.

Anyone has issues using instarem/any other transfer service to the IBKR Euro account? It's based in Germany.

It used to be based in the UK but more to Germany, my guess its because of Brexit.

Currently transferring to SGD and converting to EUR

Anyone using TSG have their IBKR permissions messed up? I initially had stocks permission working fine since I registered. Recently, somehow it got revoked and I notice CFD permissions (which i did not have or request) is in pending state.

Reached out to IBKR support but was told to approach TSG support instead to fix this.
