QUOTE(TOS @ Jan 22 2023, 06:35 PM) ๆญๅๅ่ดข Happy lunar new year, I just withdraw via wise directly thoughMost cost effective way is to withdraw from IBKR to SG bank (only 1 free attempt per month) then transfer back to MY using Wise (50 to 60 bp all-in FX spread). There are a few guides online if you google IBKR SGD withdrawal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TJcJuvnP5c https://drgohhk.com/withdraw-money-from-ibk...-and-singapore/ Since it was still in my account,'s record Tq so much |

QUOTE(TOS @ Jan 22 2023, 06:46 PM) Oh you mean the direct transfer to Wise is successful? Ya, I did it last year around 2k usd. No issueThe risk with direct transfer to Wise is AML policy breaching. Some members transferred money into IB using Wise directly (from MY) before amd had received warning from IB with account closure as the ultimate penalty. Outward remittance should be the same, I believe. ---------------- *For DBS users, SGD back and forth between IBKR and SG bank is free but USD will incur charges https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/...#post-135156893 This time also 2k. Do you happen to know how much amount other members were withdrawing to trigger AML policy? I hold my settled cash in USD though, usd covertion to sgd then cimb sg back to msia bank would incur some very small charges iinm, so I just directly withdraw to my wise account lol |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Feb 11 2023, 06:52 PM) If you are willing to learn options to generate some additional income, SPY. Options premium is counted as capital gain hence tax free for us Malaysian. Bro, can elaborate the options thing? If you just want to buy SP500 ETF and don't want to get hit by US 30% dividends tax, CSPX from London stock exchange. But they do have 15% dividend tax Vs 30%. As I know option is usually short term or time decay I planned to buy and hold forever. So if directly buy then dca sp 500, the only issue is - 30% on annual dividend? I once received jd.com dividend in ibkr, never got tax iinm |

Hi guys, got question, for typical ibkr account, cannot do day trading right?
I remember read somewhere if buy and sell within 3 days too frequently will get account banned. Is that correct? Typically buying 10 units or 1k usd stocks, the fee incurred is how much already? Also selling incurred how much fees? |

QUOTE(markedestiny @ Apr 19 2023, 10:58 PM) If u have a Sg bank, then transfer rm9k via Sunway Money app to SGD. What is Sunway money app? Trust worthy? From Sg bank to ibkr's SGD account using direct transfer. Once received, convert SGD within ibkr at spot rate gets u about USD2021. If u don't have Sg bank, don't bother, just slight saving. However if you transfer on regular basis, in the long run, these savings are significant. |

Anyone knows how can I ensure that my ibkr fund can be withdrawn if I die?
Also what is the most cost effective way to transfer more than 100k myr into ibkr besides via wise. Also, if I purchased US dividend stocks stock, do I subject to 30% WHT ๏ผ I know the ADR stock won't be deducting 30% for its dividend. |

QUOTE(TOS @ Jul 13 2023, 02:10 PM) Layman's term is... overnight trading. What do you think? It's good to use for trading china adr stocks?23.5 hours. Overnight hours is from 8 pm to 3.30 am the next day US Eastern time. Premarket session starts from 4 am US Eastern. If you can understand Mandarin this post is pretty informative: https://sparksparkfinance.com/reviews-ratin...-trading-hours/ Note that all orders during overnight trading hours are only routed to IBKR Eos ATS (IBKR's own alternative trading system), and there is liquidity issue to take into consideration. Can see the buy sell volume during the overnight trading session? |

QUOTE(TOS @ Jul 13 2023, 10:50 PM) Err, I haven't tried overnight trading yet, can't comment. Maybe Hoshiyuu can share his experience if he had tried it? Bro, do you know any article or YouTube videos teach about option buying? Call or put? For dummies or noon? You do have a point on trading chinese ADR stocks. They should be more liquid and track the price movements of their corresponding HKEX-listed ones. I won some money thru long term trade / holding, thinking to do option call / put via ibkr, but don't know how to execute the order. |

QUOTE(TOS @ Jul 14 2023, 10:07 AM) I ----------------------------- If you are referring to buying/selling options on IBKR, I can recommend Ramjade. i know he did covered calls/puts before using IBKR. Accumulative ones include VUAA by Vanguard, CSPX by Blackrock, SPXS by Invesco etc. VUAA and CSPX are the more liquid ones. There are distributive version too. You can have a look at the full list here: https://www.justetf.com/en/find-etf.html?as...&sortOrder=desc Hoshiyuu will probably share more info with you. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Is it this one? Trading using UK trading hour, How much is the fee charged by ibkr? Is there any cost effective amount per buying /selling? |

QUOTE(TOS @ Nov 15 2023, 07:23 AM) Try not to use Sunway Money these days due to the RM8 fee (used to be RM1). Can use Moneymatch instead. Bro, thanks for ur suggestion*Transfer MYR to your Spore bank account via Moneymatch/Sunway Money, then deposit SGD to IBKR. As for "Cash on hand" and "buying power" I think you can check that from the portfolio statistics via the online portal... ---------------------------- *To save on further FX charges, you can purchase stocks using RSP method once the money is in your IBKR cash account, but set to one time purchase only. In the case of US shares, your SGD will be exchanged to say USD at market rate without the usual 2 USD charges if you buy via the RSP method. For the cash on hand, how to get the interest? I still unclear bro. I always read some banner got x% keeping the cash. |

QUOTE(TOS @ Nov 15 2023, 07:53 AM) For USD interests, you need to keep at least 10k USD in your cash account to earn the interest. For other currencies, you can have a look at the minimum cash amount to keep here: https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/accou...erest-rates.php How the t bil interest works? So, to earn interest on your idle USD cash, you can consider depositing them in short-term US T-bills/T-bills ETF like BIL. Like stock? Got ex date? |
