Actually Ramjade says its better. I trust his judgement.
For LLC, I just apply under IBKR and not IBKR Singapore. So maybe that's why got the LLC one.

IBKR SG:

1. Got SG GST 9%
2. No SIPC protection
3. Margin financing rate higher according to Ramjade, for those with margin account

You can just pull a ticket with customer service to change to IBKR LLC version. Not a big deal, they will respond to you and you just follow their steps. I converted from IBKR UK to IBKR LLC in less than 2 weeks, if I remembered correctly.

has anybody done a fund transfer from IBKR LCC (US) to Maybank Malaysia? IBKR said the Maybank SWIFT code is insufficient. They need a correspondence bank for Maybank in order to make the trasnfer. Maybank cant resolve this issue for me hence im asking here.

You mean you phoned Maybank HK in KL and they still can't tell you who is their correspondent bank?

Phoned Maybank home branch in KL and they couldnt answer. But from the link you posted, it seems that the ABA Number: 026001287 is Maybank intermediary bank. Anybody used this?

I was wondering whether you can link your account to deposit, and withdraw to the same account? I've recently link my US account to IBKR and plan to see whether there is any way to link our local bank with IBKR.

Seems like UBS/ETrade wire transfer more direct. Tried with UBS before with that Swift code and it is working

if u don't mind indirect way, transfer USD out to wise, then convert to RM, and topup your ewallet via Wise debit card. good to know the alternatives as IBKR gives 1 free bank withdrawal monthly, and 1 free Wise withdrawal for the same period

Hong Leong: J.P. Morgan

Those banks refer to "Maybank/Hong Leong bank" or "JPM/Citi"?

1. If those banks refer to Maybank/HL Bank, unless the staff tells you it's JPM/Citi, otherwise you won't be able to know whether it's JPM/Citi, right? Then you would have ended up like abcn1n's case.

2. If those banks refer to JPM/Citi, (wow HNWI spotted lol), why would the staff bothers to tell you they are correspondent banks to Maybank/HL Bank? Unless you kepo and ask them?

I sent my money to HLB & Maybank. Maybank someone posted it before on a blog/guide, verified is working myself. Hong Leong has only 1 correspondent bank listed in IBKR, I also tried and it is working. I tried with 500USD transfer on both of them

Ah nice. Can share correspondent bank fees? Should be 10 USD?

Pretty sure Maybank and HL Banks will also markup on FX rate and impose additional inward TT fees.
